I love Corvettes, pretty much all of them, and I really hope to buy a C5 ZO6 this year....but the new C7 was a real disappointment for me from a styling standpoint. The Camaro rear end is just horrible, I have no earthly idea what they were thinking. Love the 7 speed, love the base 450 hp LT1, love the return of the "Stingray" moniker, the rest of the car is well done but I can't get past the rear end.

Right on, thanks for all the replies guys :)

I do have a couple more thoughts, first off, I love the rear end on the new C7 Corvette, and also, the rear end on the new Camaros :)

Styled after a Ferrari ? And their is something "bad" about this ? Ferrari's are absolutely beautiful too !

Oh, but mine would have to be this color :) .....with black and "green" interior of course. Who ever Photochopped this, must have over looked that. Needs green brake calipers too :)

It's the ugliest butt on a Corvette, ever.

Totally agree. I don't mean to harp on it, but it's like they put absolutely no thought into it what so ever, I couldn't believe it when I first saw it. They could have at least matched the tail lights and exhaust tips, i.e. round and round, or rectangular, and rectangular. That's even apparent to a know nothing like me.

BMW's are completely different animals compared to Ferrari, Corvette, etc.

I'd take a new BMW Alpina B7 over just about any car on the road. :)

I'd take a S8 over the Alpina, but I lean twards audis

Originality.

It's just like most Hyundai/Kias, almost all their classes look like they ripped off the designs every competitor

Redline, that beautiful machine can be in any movie it wants, however being in a James Bond moive is the epitome for any product.

Can you picture Bond in that Corvette in a chase scene with a beautiful Bond girl next to him?

That car has your name written all over it. Let us know what color you get.

Definatly the Corvette Summer car

I don't like the back end on the new Vette

A-Jay Heres a less expensive car with the same performance

I am and have been with GM for quite some time, the new vette is something one needs to see up close and personal, we had our first one come through and it was gone before it hit the showroom floor, I love my Fords though, and would love to have a Shelby GT 500, thats a pretty good looking car and it still looks like the American made Detroit power house Lee Iacocca built in the 60's.

I've was a fan of the Camaro up until '82 and a Vette fan up until '83 or '84 when they restyled it, and again with the next generation after that. If you're going to bring back the iconic Stingray, make it look like a Vette. IMO the designers got lazy designing the new Camaro and the Vette. Got to admit, that mustang is badass and at maybe 20k less than the Vette, not too shabby. Problem I have, if I could afford to buy one of these cars, I have nowhere to drive them. There is a supercar dealership in Chicago's "Goldcoast". I've worked in the area and the dealership will block off some of the streets during off peak traffic to give test drives. I'm nothing short of amazed watching the performance of any of the supercars. I have also done work in the Chicago Board of Trade, and their garage has the highest concentration of supercars I've ever seen.

That is a very nice vehicle ~

Not that I have anything against Fords, but I married into a GM family and as such, there are certain "benefits" regarding sticker price that sort of steer me in a GM kind of direction.   My "garage Queen" 06 GTO when purchased was in my price range.   I'm scheduled and ready for upgrade and this new Vette might be it.

Even though the GTO does have a Corvette engine, it would be nice to have the whole car.

We have a good customer base here and we are lucky to have the clientele that we do have, there is one guy in our area that has a virtual parking deck under his house here and he has quite the collection of cars, top end Porche's, Lambo's , you name it, but he also has a passion for American muscle and you should see some of those, i'm talkin SWEEEEET !!

When Ford reproduced the GT I thought they did a pretty good job at getting it close to the GT40, I would have liked to have seen a little more performance out of the car but the car was really cool to see, I thought they were going to run the car with the vette in some of the racing series but it really never got off the ground.

One thing that really disappoints me is the effort that Ford puts into their racing programs, it's just hard to find any effort, any real effort I should say.

The older stuff is my passion as well, I don't think there were any real muscle cars that left Detroit after 1970, I started for a Garage in 1972 and we worked on primarily GM stuff but with a mix of everything from spiders to pacers, more commonly known as (Fishbowls)  I have to say that GM did their part in trying to keep the Corvette the Icon it is today, but it seems to be getting away from the Detroit type of American muscle car and starting to look and feel more like an import, when I take these cars on their road tests, the Camaro, the CTSVX, the Vetts, it feels really good to have the horsepower back under your a## like the old days when Big Block monsters ruled the streets with ground shaking thumper type solid lift cams you could hear pecking away at the lifters they were pushing.

I miss those days of going to the tracks, both road racing and drag strips, where real horsepower came from the North and the big three battled it out over a long race, or a 1/4 mile or even the ovals for that matter, for the right to have the title of champion, Win on Sunday, sell on Monday baby !!

One of my Favorites was the Corvette faceman drove on the A Team.....my other personal favorite I would buy today if I had the cash would be the 1992 C4 ZR1....C5's were nice...But the sickest one ever would be the 2009 C6 ZR1.

I heard that, I'd love a C4 ZR1, they're selling low now too. That can't last forever on a Corvette that was so significant. They looked just awesome under the hood too:

That's from my desktop BTW. They'll never drop a better looking engine in a Vette, these newer engines are flat out hideous.

I love my Ford truck..... But don't care for the looks of Mustangs, old or new.

Oh hey, speaking of Ford trucks.....

This needs a new post !  :)

The back on the C7 is horrid, overall poor design goes to the C4.

Easy to mock the C4 now, but it was revolutionary in it's day. You have to give it points for at least utilizing a new chassis, from 53-82 the Corvette rode on essentially the same chassis. The C4 also acheived great racing success, and the ZR1 is a legend.

That looks like Lamborghini's Verde Ithaca.  Great color.

That's funny :) I never cared for the rear ends on pretty much any of the older Vettes, but I love the new one :) The new Camaro rear ends look great too :) Different strokes I guess.

Oh hey, I'm also surprised so many of you like that green one posted ? I've ALWAYS loved green. My life long favorite color. But up until a few years ago, most of the time when I showed somebody a bright green car, they got all freaked out like, "Oooooh ! It's different... Yuck. I want to blend in with everbody else, with a white, black, red, or blue one".......

Kind of sucks that so many people agree with me now about bright lime green. I might just have to pick a new favorite color ;) LOL

The part I don't get about the back of the C7 is the rest of the car is a sleek flowing design. Then you get to the back and its a box, it does not match the rest of the car. I can understand trying to link it to the Camaro but not in a way that is radically different then the rest of the car.

Hey Brian, on the one hand, I kind of hear what your saying, but then again, to me, the rear ends of ALL Vettes always seemed kind of chopped off / boxy anyway. IMPO from that standpoint, it really hasn't changed much.
