OK so I have been looking to increase my stock pile of tungsten weights...What i was wondering is dose everyone really think the color of the weight has really made a huge difference in there catch or bite ratio???..I mean can any one think of a situation where you where fishing with a Black weight and switched to a red one and it made a huge difference?

I mean the head of a jig is technically the weight.  It's all part of the bait though.  That said, the color of the weight WILL make a difference...in that instance.  But if the weight isn't part of the actual BAIT, then I wouldn't worry about it.

It's all about confidence, i caught plenty of fish on green, red, black and especially unpainted. Both matching and clashing with my bait. Basically if you think it looks good, and think it will catch fish, and if you don't you probably wont.

I agree that the colors don't really seem to matter.  I have caught fish using a wide variety of weight colors.  My question is what brand weight is most commonly used for texas rigging?

I've tried black, brown, and purple. Doesn't seem to make a difference compared to the color Lead.. ;D

Doesn't make one bit of difference.

Unpainted tungsten sinkers are a little shiney IMO, at least when new, and the don't "dull" as much over time like lead does. I go with black just to combat this. It's probably more a "me" thing than a fish thing. I also have greens, reds and browns, but have seen no differance when using black, so black is all I buy now.

a huge difference? prob not.

i do think it can make a difference the same way color does on any other part of your lure.
