fl_bass Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Caught my fist bass with megastrike. Dang that sucker did not want to let go. It did not hit it hard, just the line got heavy and next thing I knew. Fish on. lol. Will try it again tomorrow at a different lake and see how it goes. At least the skunk streak is over. Hahah Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 nice job...its a great attractant Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 4, 2013 Super User Posted February 4, 2013 Congrats. May you start a bass catching streak for the rest of the year. Quote
RyneB Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 i remember the day i discovered megastrike. Great day in my fishing life. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 It's great stuff. I brush my teeth with it, put it on my toast, etc... 1 Quote
TrapperJ Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Got mine in the other day what surprised me is that it doesnt smell near as strong as JJ's or Pro-Cure. Did i get a bad batch? or is that how its supposed to be. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Trap- The fish know exactly what it is- What we smell are air/born molecules. Fish dont necessarily smell airborn molecules- Very rarely do I ever see a bass let go of a bait once it inhales it- It is very important when making long casts. Think about how many seconds before you put the hook through the fishes jaw Count- Detection time of strike Reaction time of strike. Reeling down to take up slack Hook set time Rod bend and line stretch time Power to the point of the hook Any other bait uncoated- that bass spit it out long ago- Think of all the fish you could have caught + Megastrike -about 1/4 of one cent per application-- People spend 200 on a reel -180 on a rod 50000 grand on a boat-- Hmm wheres the logic Get some goo 1 Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 4, 2013 Super User Posted February 4, 2013 I just received my order in both the Craw and Original scent. Can't wait until the freeze has passed to begin using it. Heard so much about this and JJ's on this forum that it makes me excited about this next season. Can't wait!!! Quote

scrutch Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 My new tube arrived last week. Somebody oughta tell Gerald Swindle that it works great for "monkey butt" too! Quote
TrapperJ Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Noticed this weekend that Dick's Sporting Goods or atleast in tulsa sells megastrike, original and craw. Quote
Super User Felix77 Posted February 4, 2013 Super User Posted February 4, 2013 Noticed this weekend that Dick's Sporting Goods or atleast in tulsa sells megastrike, original and craw. I was in Ohio last week and saw it there. I come home (New York) and it shows up there as well. Just in time too ... because my two tubes I ordered from MegaStrike came in the mail while I was away. LOL. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 4, 2013 Super User Posted February 4, 2013 If I didn't have my tube of Megastrike I would have that feeling you get when you leave your watch at home or your glasses! That IS NOT A GOOD FEELING! If I fish in my buddy's boat the first thing I pack is my Megastrike! Quote
TrapperJ Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 how much are you guys using? Or whats a good rule of thumb in amounts to use on baits? Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted February 4, 2013 Super User Posted February 4, 2013 how much are you guys using? Or whats a good rule of thumb in amounts to use on baits? I put alittle on my finger and rub it up & down my worm, brush hog or what ever plastic I am fishing. Alittle goes a long way. If I fish a jig I rub it into the skirt & trailer! Quote

Another thing I do is put some Megastrike into a tube bait so it has a slow release and when the bass hits the tube it will not let go!!!!! Quote

Alittle goes a long way. If I fish a jig I rub it into the skirt & trailer! I feel differently about the jig. I put it on my trailer but absolutely try to avoid getting it on the skirt of the jig as it has a tendency to make the skirt stick together. I hate that. I want my jig skirt to "flow" and the goo, while it is my favorite gel attractant, is no bueno on the skirt. Quote
BigMoneyGrip Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Is this available in any stores? I was gonna place an order with Megastrike but the shipping was gonna be $10.95. I had the attractant, a couple of jigs and a couple of spinner baits. I thought the shipping was too much so I quit. Quote

What I should have said, I put it on the skirt AFTER I put it on the trailer! I have very little on my finger when I rub the skirt just enough to give the skirt some sent.My skirts never stick together. Thanks for that heads up! Quote
Jig Meister Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Well guess I will try this, just used the last of my BANG! on all my plastics that have been sitting all winter. Any recommendation of 'flavor'? Quote
fl_bass Posted February 5, 2013 Author Posted February 5, 2013 Congrats. May you start a bass catching streak for the rest of the year. I hope so, my boys were getting worried that all the fish had disappeared from the lake. That whole we are fishing not catching thing goes right over a 7 and 5 year old's head. I handed the older one the rod and he brought Mr. Bass on to shore. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted February 5, 2013 Posted February 5, 2013 I disagree with the Amish Mafia leader Speedbead- Heres how you take care of the issue with the skirt. Take a pea size drop of MegaStrike Rub it thriugh your thumb and forefinger. then rub it through the skirt thoroughly Then take the tips of the skirt and pull them -snapping them a bit and that will get the action and breathability back into the skirt. Usually lasts a long time in there. I will make a short clip on how to do it.. Geez speed do i have to do everything for ya. ya mary. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 6, 2013 Super User Posted February 6, 2013 Different strokes for different folks. Don't make me ball tap you. Quote
