Location just outside of Peoria IL. Spammed another fishing board 3 days ago, with no repsone. Thinking I should just pop him. Product seems to be the next Banjo Minnow. Jeff Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted February 3, 2013 Super User Posted February 3, 2013 Pop him! Spamming on his first post. You beat me to it. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 3, 2013 Super User Posted February 3, 2013 Don't hesitate. If he talks like a duck and walks like a duck then add a little apple juice and toss him in the oven after you pop him and let us know when dinner is ready. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 3, 2013 Will do. But never want to "Kent" someone especially with all our new sponsors and pros signing up. Jeff Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 3, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 3, 2013 Ah, good point. I guess it would be helpful to know who's coming on board, eh? Here's who have recently signed on the dotted line (although dates are unknown, expect them to be within the next month): - Power-Pole -Yakima Baits - SeaGuar - Tuff Line - Garmin - Hobie Catt Yes, Hobie Catt. This one should be fun, because they're taking a "prove it" stance. They're really not optimistic about what we can do for them. I love proving them wrong. Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 3, 2013 Sounds like a great amount of new sponsors. Looking forward to it. Jeff Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 3, 2013 Super User Posted February 3, 2013 Yes, Hobie Catt. This one should be fun, because they're taking a "prove it" stance. They're really not optimistic about what we can do for them. I love proving them wrong. I've got an idea. Should we ask John's friend, who is with Hobie Catt, if he want's to receive a little training on the ins and outs of promoting companies on forums without looking like a Pimp. He may already get it but it never hurts to ask. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 3, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 3, 2013 I was really thinking of John when Hobie Catt decided to try us out. I'm really looking to him to leverage his network and experience to help us out here. I believe John teaches kayak/canoe fishing, if memory serves me right. So I'm already working on getting him a boat that he can test, show off, and let others try out through his teaching, who will then post about their impressions here. If John's friend is willing, that would be terrific. If anyone has other ideas, let's hear them! Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted February 3, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 3, 2013 My only idea is I have a buddy with a yak. Not Hobie. But I can tell you I dont like his. I will not bash the other brand but talk about how much nicer the hobies seem than the other I have used. Jeff Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 5, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 5, 2013 Hey John, can you get on a call with me an Hobie? I don't think they're able to provide a boat, so they want to know what other ideas you have. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 5, 2013 Super User Posted February 5, 2013 Sorry, just seeing this. When is the call? Chuck Wrenn (Hanover Yakker) is a Hobie Pro, and we've had several conversations about how to promote without being overtly pushy. Chuck's a great guy, has lots of video footage of himself, and if you look at his recent posts, is already doing Hobie good. He'll be fishing a large national open kayak tournament in March, on Santee-Cooper, and I'm sure we can leverage that somehow. Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted February 16, 2013 Author Super User Posted February 16, 2013 Just an FYI, I went to the Mid South RV and Boat show today and guess who was there. Fizzards. Talked to the guys for 2-3 minutes and they were very nice and enthusiastic about their product. Seems they are just getting off the ground but want to jump in head first. Jeff BTW- I did tell not them I was from Bass Resource and popped them for Spamming. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 16, 2013 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 16, 2013 Yep, enthusiasm often trumps common sense. Quote
