Well the first good news of the day! Phil the groundhog did NOT see his shadow! Early spring!

Here in VA it's only around 25. That's cold for us.

Supposed to be above average temps most of the week this week with possible precipitation that isn't the cold white stuff    Honestly I'd take whatever kind of moisture we can get. I've been walking the banks of some of the lakes looking for baits and on some of the flatter areas it would be hard to reach the old shoreline with a long cast. Seeing stumps and laydowns on the bank that I've caught good fish out of before is kind of depressing

I want snow and cold for a solid month at least. I just bought new ice fishing gear all new fenwick ice rods, a snow ghili suit for coyote hunting also but the snow and ice hasn't stuck around long enough to use it. Cold teen or single digit temps for a few days then it warms up to 60+ and it all goes away.

Down Yorktown way, on the peninsula. I got up a little later this AM, I think it was supposed to be in the teens overnight, may have been.

Id love to see an early spring but it sure doesn't feel like it here in MD.  Got snow today for the second time this week (only an inch or 2...enough to mess the roads up but not enough to do anything fun) and apparently theres a pretty good chance for more over the next couple days.  Can't wait for it to warm up and to get back on them lakes

Great temps here in Central Texas and bass are paired up and nesting on some waters.

"Punxsutawnwy Phil" came out of his burrow and didn't see his shadow, meaning an early spring. "T-Boy", the Audubon Zoo nutria, announced the same.

 

Hopefully both varmits are right.

What they don't tell you is that it will be an early spring only where the groundhogs are, no where else.

I doubt that, I live a little over an hour from the groundhog and its miserable here
