My buddy fishes his Premier all the time and loves it. Got it for $24, just like you. Every time I look for a deal like that at DSG's they don't have 'em. upnorthbassin Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 The one near me has a somewhat limited selection and I hardly ever see any clearance deals on rods or reels. The only st croix rods I've seen there is a small rack with 8 or less triumphs and a couple of mojos. I have never seen one marked down. I do come across deals like recently their xcalibur products were all marked down 40% off or so...and you might find one color of one particular crankbait for 30-50% off here and there. Sometimes they have an additional 50% off sign up and you can get a good deal but your selection is exremely limited because it only applies to item prices ending in .97 or something like that....and that never seems to be the stuff that most people would be interested in. Not to mention that everything is on the wrong hooks and you have to read the bar code numbers on the tags to tell what the price is to begin with. They never touch the fishing department...I've seen stuff that's obviously damaged, set aside on the rack and a year later it's still in the exact same place on the same rack. I've stopped going there for the most part because it's just not worth the trouble putting up with their nonsense and awful customer service to get a deal. Oops...now I sound like angry typing guy on a rant. hahaha. Oh well. Quote

They only had 4 hooks with those on display so the selection was slim, but I bought a selection of what they had. I've never used them before but they have a great look to them....even down to the packaging. I'll be giving them a try as soon as this ice melts. Quote

I got 3 Curados last year (two different stores) for $75 a piece, and a 45lb Minn Kota transom mount trolling motor for my little jon boat for $65!! Since then I can't seem to beat the folks that flock to our dick's to get the good deals fast. We carry such a small selection of wanted items and a large quantity of stuff nobody buys often that it's hard to get there good. Another Dick's near me has LC pointers/sammys that seem to run at 14.97 + 50% off quite a bit but I can't ever seem to get there before they are cleared out. Quote

I make sure to take advantage of that. Even when they are not on sale, they are one of the few places around that still have Senkos for less than $7 a bag, I think they are $6.49 regular price, so I always grab a few packs when I am there.
