Hopefully next winter's build.

Actually, I'll be fishing it in the spring!  The blank showed up today!  Will be ordering the guides by the end of the week.

An Okuma Helios reel had my eye on them for a bit now. They have rebate as well & with left over money get another 7'M/F Quantum Smoke rod for a 9.7oz combo right aroun $240

HMMM tuff choice new fishing rod or  a new fishing partner -- HMMM decisions decisions

Lol!!!  $240 wouldn't even cover the hotel room.  If you want to be happy the rest of your life, marry yourself an ugly wife.

$240 is not worth the 10 seconds it'd last.  :laugh5:

Some great ideas!  I don't have a boat so I can't take that advice.  I do however contribute what I think is a decent amount to a buddy or my boater in the tournament I'm paired with.  It is very expensive I'm sure.

As far as rods and reels....... I just purchased 5 new reels.  I don't need more! lol  Rods I could go with a few but there is money there already for some.

So I was thinking some Costa 580G's or a Frabil Storm suite.  Dumb on my part?

Dude. I bought Costa 580G's last fall and LOVE them. Was scared to death given the cost ... get it, "cost"a. Sorry.

But I scored a pair of 580G's off of eBay (yes, they're legit) for far less than at retail outlets. Been super happy with them - and the cablz to keep 'em on my head.

Would then splurge on a nice GLoomis rod. Wouldnt pay the money out of my own money, but guilt free money, OK.
