bassguytom Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Ok guys I'm still iced in. What is your favorite crankbait. No lip and lip. I absolutely crushed the bass this year with the Aruku Shad in the Magic Shad color. For lipped I was using KVD 1.5 but I gotta tell you I threw the Aruku Shad pretty much all the time because I could yo yo it up and down the water colum. Bring it on! Quote
gripnrip Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 My best performers were the Luck-E strike square bill in copper shad and a series 5 SK in sexy shad. Lipless was an xcalibur 1/2 in red craw. Quote

Super User Marty Posted January 29, 2013 Super User Posted January 29, 2013 Ever since they were introduced 30 years ago, Shad Raps have been my favorite crankbaits with the highest degree of confidence. That's subjective and not based on any testing by me. Also for reasons unknown, for lipless I use Rattling Rapalas. Maybe I just have Rapala blood in me. Quote
craww Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Lipless is a toss up between redeye shad (yo-yoing) and rattlin vibe (horizontal). Squarebill, Lucky craft RC. Bangin rocks in less than 8', Bandit 200. I don't usually fish a crank beyond 8'-10'. Quote

TriCityBassin' Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 There are so many. Shallow water with a lot of snags: Bandit 100 Early spring: Cotton Cordell Baby Wiggle'O and a #7 Shad Rap Deep: Normans, Rapala Of special note: The Norman Deep Tiny N is a beast! I love finesse but this little bait has boated more 3lb bass than i can count. It is a killer and casts great on 10lb test Citica/6'6" Compre TC4 set up. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 30, 2013 Super User Posted January 30, 2013 Last year I caught most of mine on a 1/2 oz. Cordell Super Spot and a 3/8 oz. Mann's 1 minus. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 30, 2013 Super User Posted January 30, 2013 Lipless: SK 1/2 oz. Redeye shad, it's the most versitile of the 3 sizes of the RES. I can fish it from the bank to 12' deep, and have caught more on it than both the 1/4, and 3/4 oz size combined. Shallow: SK KVD 2.5.............I catch more on the 1.5, but I like fishing the 2.5 more, and especialy the results. Not saying I don't catch big fish on the 1.5, because I do, especialy early and late in the season, but the 2.5 has been VERY good at producing "kicker" size fish when I needed one. Mid: .........typicaly I when I am cranking mid-depth ranges it is with the Redeye shad, but when I do go to a lipped bait the SK 3xd is the one I use. Deep: SK 5xd.....I have caught more numbers AND size with this than the 6xd. The 6xd has it's time and place for me, but day in day out, the 5xd is almost always tied on. Quote
