Have any of y'all ever tried this...is so what color skirt, blade, and color and type if trailer did you use

It's dark so think dark colors. Black/blue with a dull colored blade and black trailer. With that much vibration they'll be able to find it. Go with a dark trailer as well.

x2.

Black/blue with black blade is killer at night, especially in shallow water when conditions permit.

What size chatterbait should I use...the water I fish is pretty shallow

I usually use the 1/4 or 3/8oz. if fishing shallow water. I know folks who use larger though to size up their offering.

I'd go 3/8 for shallow. Better castability. Use black and blue at night, with a black trailer.

3/8oz black and blue chatterbait is one of my favorite night fishing baits. I usually put a 4" grub on the back. The bulky profile and strong vibration really calls them in at night.

Would a zoom fat Albert single tail grub be fine for a trailer?

Yes. I also use a Swimming Super Fluke or Jr. Size.

Half a senko or trick worm works well also. Small swimbaits add a different kind of vibration also.

Fat alberts work good.  Also, a LFT Magic shad does REALLY well.
