I just got back from my trip to Disney and on Friday my son and I were able to go out and fish Bay Lake in Disney. We employed one of the Disney guides and were able to get out for 2.5 hours, unfortunatley we had plans for the rest of the day, so we squeezed in as much time as possible.

We used worms and I had brought down some Strikeback Spinnerbaits and used those as well. These spinnerbaits were a lot of fun to fish with. Absolutely great right out of the package. The boat landed 11 fish and we missed 4 additional fish on worms. The Strikeback accounted for 6 fish all were bigger than the worm fish.

At the end of the outing I gave the guide a brand new Strikeback in addition to the gratuity and during the trip I found out that the guide I used 6 years ago was still employed by Disney so I gave him one as well.

If you're on the fence about buying some of these, I highly recommend trying them. I hooked and landed every fish that struck one and when you see that fish trying to shake that bait loose, you'll see the swiveling action of the hook and will have confidence that the fish won't come unbuttoned.

It's almost unbelievable what a difference the StrikeBack design makes.

Top quality components is another attribute.

Awesome, I have been on the fence about them. I just got a ton of Terminator spinnerbaits on clearance, but will give these a try... Incidentally, I just did that Nitro fishing excursion back in October and had a blast.  Something special about getting to fish that lake, seeing the folks stream into the park, getting to see the abandoned parks, etc. Glad to hear you had a good time.

I fished Bay Lake back in the first week of Sept of last year. The guide was good and we had fun. Didn't catch anything to write home about but it was a good time. I think our boat (just 2 of us on their nitro) had maybe 8 or 9 fish that day. If you're on vacation you might as well be fishing!

RW, you're dead on about the components on these, but I was impressed with the paint job on the blade! I was using a Chartreuse/White spinnerbait and the blade was a half Nickel/half Chartreuse. The impressive part is the chartreuse was a transluscent color over the nickel base and had a nice reflection in the water.

Avalonjohn44, I couldn't agree with you more about fishing in Disney and watching the folks streaming in. My 8 y/o son was with me and we had a breakfast reservation in the Contemporary Hotel right after the fishing trip. They had Donald Duck, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto come to the table to sign his autograph book and pictures...He was very excited about that!

MV, you will not be dissapointed with the swiveling head on this spinnerbait. I did not miss a strike nor have one come unbuttoned. The hook is very sticky and big. I can't remember what Megastrike uses, but the 3/8 oz bait I was using looked like a Mustad 5/0 hook. Maybe Bobby can let us know. I'll tell you one thing, those guides were just as impressed as I was...LOL

upnorth, I think the biggest we caught was just under 3 lbs, but to catch that many fish in a 2.5 hour slot on January 25th...for me, it was way better than driving to the airport in 5* cold on January 24th...LOL

Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you enjoyed our spinnerbaits. More importantly I am glad you had a great time with your son. There is nothing more important to me as a father and lure designer than to have people tell me great times they had with their family. Beleiev me my phone dosent stop here at work. My secretary is always getting calls complimenting product here.

As you mentioned-that swiveling head is really the deal-total functionality and innovation. You mentioned that blade- No one has ever made a blade like that-The red and blue are superb as well.

I see that you gave them to your guide -send me an email and address and i will send you some  for you and your son

Thanks Again

Bobby

You're welcome Bobby, I wasn't trying to "plug" the Megastrike StrikeBack, I just wanted to let the folks here at BR know that I did try them and really liked them.

Now about those lead free evolution jigs...Check your PM's, I have a question on those.
