The Fat Ika is sturdy, there is absolutely no reason

to fish a knockoff. The key is that very few people

fish them...YOU should be one of them!

;D ;D ;D

I ordered some of these based on Roadwarrior's sticky.  I can't wait to get to try them.  I hope they will produce because none of the tackle stores around here new what they were.

Hopefully, it will be my own little secret weapon.

If I'm not mistaken Road wrote an article on how to get bit using this and a senko and no other lures. Search for it or maybe he will be kind enough to find it.

Gist was: carry a spinning outfit and cast the fat ika parallel to the bank. Drag/sweep it slowly along the bottom. Cast slightly further out from the bank - like 3 feet. Repeat. Do this in a fan pattern until you're eventually parallel fishing the bank to your other side - like right to left. It's slow. It's painful. REALLY PAINFUL, but you will catch fish. Article was designed as a confidence builder for newbies but it still comes to mind when I get frustrated with a senko. I go into roadwarrior mode, and start catching fish!

By the way, does anybody else think that Roadwarrior's avatar makes him look like Dr. Cox from Scrubs with a mustache? I'm just sayin' he's a pretty man, or as we say in Alabama, you've got a pretty mouth!

sorry...

That is funny ;D ;D  He does a little bit.

I started to fish Fat Ika after reading the articles, and small mouth loves them...I didn't even know small mouth existed in my lake until I start fishing Ika.

Great thanks!

Also what makes this tube so good compared to others? I dont really fish tubes that much but how it looks rigged upside down has me intrigued!

Aww, man.  There's nothing special about the Fat Ikas.  They're really not that great a bait.  Really.  They don't catch any of the species of black bass.  They're not good for pitching, or flipping, or for working timber, or for weightless rigs, or any other way.

Disclaimer:  The above post is written wholly as sarcasm; and in no way should get you to fish Ikas.  Leave them for the rest of us.

Buy them from Tackle Warehouse. Spend over $50 and shipping is free.  They have great prices and a good selection on most of their stuff. Spending $50 there is not a problem. 8-)

i believe a lot of us use knock offs, for various reasons.

price being the main one.  and their quality is outstanding.

plus, no tackle shop near me carries them.  not Dick's, BPS, none.  if by chance Brent (***) offered them i would imagine the price would be less than GYCB and i could pick up some other items from him as well.

It's not a tube. The body is solid.

BTW, I fish the "*" (Brent's old ika knockoff) for two reasons.

One because Brent sells/sold them and two because they're cheaper.

Purple seems to work well in many places.. :)

Ever wonder why people make knock offs ?

I'll stick with the GYBC fat ika's.. :D

I'm not allowed to say anything about the second coming of the *. I should be able to afford to get back on BR in another month or so, though. Biz is tooough for everything fishing.

I do, but it really depends on what your wanting to do. I prefer it, because weightless it will cast further into the tullies where the fish are at my lake..open water is a different story, there you could use the reg. ika, but all I buy are the fat ika's.. :)

So you guys use the fat ika over just the regular ika?

"stay true" Vinny, the colors you want are right in your sig. (confidence is key)

O yea i always stick with those colors but on TW there are so many variations to each color its crazy!

So yea i was just wondering what specific natural color has produced the most

Thanks,

VC
