Any Florida body of fresh water deeper the 5 feet and as big as a half of football field has fish in it.

It was always been notorious for car breaks and trailer thefts, but I haven't been down there in years, maybe things have gotten better.

Good luck with that .....pal.

The launch I use is Antonio Maceo. It is $8 to launch and there is an attendant who watches over things. I was there the other day for peacock bass. We tore em up. The lake and canal system is eat up with peacock bass but I would not go there just target bass.

Its awesome, if you are worried about car break-ins, have someone tow you there and pick you up when done, use to do that years ago when I lived in Miami.  Also if you know anyone from the Miami Ski Club, ask if you go with them and FISH!  It is absolutely INSANE!

i went down there a couple of years ago with a friend and crushed them! gartracker is spot on with the burglaries and damage. my friends truck was burglarized and both windows were shattered. the thiefs absolutely destroyed the inside of his truck. the only thing they go was change from his cup holder and some cd's. shady area for sure.

I snagged a shopping cart (lost a new xrap) and got repeatedly buzzed by the jet ski bozo's. I would fish there on the weekdays, the weekends jet ski folks will test your patience.

Not a good outing for me, but I might try again to get some pea action.

Yes!!!  The fishing is awesome.  I was lucky enough to fish with fishing master Frank Carbone years ago.  That guy knows what he’s doing.  Sadly, I think he’s moved to Brazil to catch the Big Boys!  Any how,  if you want a scenic luxury trip.....forget this one!  This is ALL ABOUT THE BASS!!!  Can you tell I’m a girl!?  You are literally fish in canals and lakes in peoples backyards, underneath the air traffic from MIA and next to Miami’s major highway system.  You will be lucky if iguanas don’t fall into your boat from over hanging trees as you navigate the canal system!  There used to be garbage and debris along the banks BUT the fishing is off the hook!  BEAUTIFUL PEACOCK BASS!  If you are going to mount a monster catch,  don’t bring it back to (Indiana LOL) where they’ve NEVER seen one before??.  Ask your guide or do your homework and have it mounted in Miami somewhere and shipped home!  Cheaper and faster to take great pictures!!!  Looking forward to fishing down there soon.  I’m waiting for the Corona Virus to go away, however, if I’m gonna die, I WANNA DIE FISHING!!!!!
