nastynate Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Lets see some hair jigs that work for you. Here is my latest that i haven't got to try yet. 2 Quote
jhoffman Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Looks excellent. I tie something similar when fly fishing. I use a pheasant breast feather for the tail, the claws are made out of feathers with the center tip clipped out, the feelers I use moose mane or porucpine guard hairs(hard to find) and then I make the eyes by tying burned ends of mono heavy line. Again... that bait should kill em. I really need to tie some more myself. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 26, 2013 Global Moderator Posted January 26, 2013 Man I wish I could tie a hair jig that looked even close to that! My hair jigs just never look right for some reason. Nice work! What head are you tying them on? Quote
nastynate Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 i tied this on a bagley head. The hooks seems a little flimsy but i think it will be ok. Quote
Crookedneck Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 My brother is tying me a bunch. Can't wait to get my hands on em Quote
Bass Junkie Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Very nice looking jig! Have you considered palmering some saddle hackle over the front 1/4 or so of the body to replicate legs? Just a thought. Very clean lookin tie! Quote
nastynate Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Im gonna have to look into that. I tried using round rubber on one as the legs but didnt like the way it looked. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted February 7, 2013 Super User Posted February 7, 2013 Being from this area you know you should be using bear hair. Allen Quote
