Super User LgMouthGambler Posted January 23, 2013 Super User Posted January 23, 2013 I can see it now, soon you will have all your abu garcia items in the flea market...looking to trade for shimano rods/reels. Don't fight the force, Luke. Whos your daddy! 1 Quote

My Medium Micro Veritas is the lightest rod I've ever owned. Paired with my Revo S, that little hunny is a dream. My winch is the cats ass too. On the standard rods the 7'6" MH Veritas are light and nice, but the backbone is too thin for me. I want that thick back bone (kiss my tail smart ellecks) and the Curcial is perfect. I have 2 Gen 2 STX's. they are work horses that I could never get rid of. Quote

Just messing with you a bit. You are always a good sport. I liked my revo reels as well especially the Winch, but, for me, the shimano E series is just so much more comfortable in my hand. I have been buying some cumara rods for as little as 90 bucks, and they are a major upgrade on everything else I have fished. I am looking at a 7 ft veritas spinning rod as I have a reel with no mate...but I am afraid the posse might ...run me out of town... Quote
SudburyBasser Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I didn't like the Compres at all. They felt even more like a brick then the MH Veritas did. The Sellus is a budge rod, but for the money they are nice. I'd rather have a Sellus than a Compre. This Crucial is like heaven I haven't much experience with the Veritas so I won't comment on that but I'm surprised to hear a Compre rod compared to a brick. Then again, with the stuff I was using before I suppose anything would have felt like an upgrade. Sellus is a great budget rod, have a few of those too. I have not had one complaint about the Sellus. I use them more for my reaction style baits due to the lack of sensitivity they have compared to the Compre rods I have. I may opt for a Sellus for my crankbait set up. I'm still more inclined to go with a Compre but I haven't closed the door on a Sellus either. Depends on money that month. Quote

It sounds cliche, but the way LMG glorifies them all the time, I wanted to give it a shot. It's not my best purchase ever, but it ranks way up there. Kinda want to try the Cronarch now lol Quote

Normally I can't tell a difference in weight that much, but did with the Compre. When I learned of the warranty Shimano has and the few problems I had with my Veritas, spending that extra 60 dollars was worth it Quote
Super User rockchalk06 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 24, 2013 Also not to sway you, I have the Veritas Winch 7'6" MH. That's a very sweet cranking rod. With that parabolic action and the length, a 1/2oz red eye goes into the next zip code. As for small quality control issues, the micros and the winch series Veritas seem to be very low. None with me Quote
Super User *Hootie Posted January 24, 2013 Super User Posted January 24, 2013 ...but I am afraid the posse might ...run me out of town... Don't be be afraid of the posse. They don't like us anyway, they just want to control us....lol Hootie Quote

(curado E5's and E7's and citica 200E7's as well as stradic 2500's with mostly cumara and crucial rods)...but retain the right to experiment as I see fit...so "they" will not give me my Shimano posse card until and only if I swear allegiance  Quote

It's very similar to the compre but to me is a little lighter. Quote

I think I remember briefly handling a Clarus the day I was checking out new rods. For some reason I forgot about that rod line. Thanks for the reminder! Quote

Super User Raul Posted January 26, 2013 Super User Posted January 26, 2013 Never say: " from this well I will never drink" ...... you end up drowned in it. I´m a Shimano-Daiwa fan but I a much bigger Shimano than Daiwa fan ( got more Shimanos than Daiwas ). Quote
Super User retiredbosn Posted January 26, 2013 Super User Posted January 26, 2013 I'm going to confess that I bought my first Shimano a Curado E because of all the loyal fan base here. I knew that if I didn't like it I would have no problems selling it here. Needless to say I really liked it allot, I'm selling it now only because I have to switch to LH reels. I really hate to see it go. Quote
