Just a thought that crossed my mind as I was browsing the catalog

The catalog says so, but it has 86 reviews online 159.99

The PQ has over 656 reviews  99.99

Are they pulling a fast one to sell their priciest reel or is there truth to this? Id think the trend would continue in store.

I would be hard to argue the PQ wasnt their best seller based on its popularity alone. Dont know unless we saw the numbers though.

I think the pq would be far and away their best seller.

Agreed. The Pro Qualifier is hands down the best 100 dollar reel on the market. Just look at the reviews.

The PQ has to be the best seller because of price, performance and style. I can say however, as an angler who started out with a PQ, I absolutely LOVE my Johnny Morris Sig 2s. They cast a mile, are smooth as butter, have a great drag and have plenty of power. I have two and I swear by them. Working on fizzling out all other baitcasters and switching them to Johnny Morris Sig 2s.

I couldn't see any way the PQ isn't their best seller. For the price, especially when it's on sale, it's a tough reel to beat. Seems like almost everyone I fish with has at least one hidden somewhere. Don't believe I've ever seen one of the Johnny Morris reels anywhere except in the stores.

I would think that the JM series would be third at best. PQ,extreme, and then JM

Hard to go by review numbers. As mentioned above, there's been a TON of JM reels before the current iteration. I dont think they've changed the PQ model #  in the 7 years or so Ive been paying attention (they did make the PQT, which I own and love but the regular PQ never changed). At one point they were changing from the Johnny Morris Signature to the elite to the Gold to the carbon black every year it seemed like.

i have 3 JM reels and 1 pro qual, id rather fish with the JM reels without a doubt!! but when the PQ is on sale for 79 that is hard to beat, but as far as what you want in a reel that you use ALOT JM all the way, as far as a secondary reel PQ is good!

I am a proud owner of both just like many others on here. The PQ is definitely without a doubt the best $100 reel on the market as I recently researched and bought what I thought to be the best $100 reel (pq). This being said I also just bought a Johnny Morris signature series ($159.99) and I think it blows the pq out of the water. Especially for only 60 bucks more I think it's worth that and then some. However many people don't have the luxury of spending that extra 60 so they go with the pq. Also many people looking for a high end reel usually don't go with a store brand which would make the pq even higher seller over the jm. All in all the pq is an amazing reel and what I believe to be the best seller

The signature is actually the best selling reel that BPS makes.  What they aren't telling you is that it is all of the signature series reels combined, to get that number.  They take the original, Elite, Gold, and Signature II to get that number.

The Pro Qualifier remains probably the best loved, most unchanged reel from them.  There is a valid reason that it has never been changed, unlike the Sig.  It flat works, and is incredibly durable.

Good explanation Hooligan. I agree with you on the PQs well. I will add number 5 to my collection before the spring.
