What brands do you like, and why do you like them?

What brands do you dislike (if any)?

I make my own. Buy the hub, skirting, wire to tie them and if you want some rattle bands to add rattles. You can easily make exactly what you want for the same or less than what some companies charge.

Whats the "hub" made from, or where do I get it?

TW sells them.  Look under technique specific and then punching gear. Under punch skirts is where they are located.

With that said, I am going to buy mine from real deal custom tackle.  Great guy and great prices. He makes just the punch skirts by themselves or you can get them with the weight and skirt together.

The hubs are made from a hard / dense plastic material - they really are the way to go - and allow for endless variations of this type of bait / presentation.

one of my sponsors j&j tackle makes great punch skirts, detailed skirts and all punch skirts and jigs are wired wrapped and banded.

I have tried a few brands and always end up comming back to paycheck baits.

I use paycheck baits. I've heard of some people breaking the hubs but I've personally never had any problems.

NorthStar who is also a sponser on this site makes the best punch skirt that I have seen yet!!! He has them with rattles in the collar and without. If it is not on his site just ask him or e-mail him.
