OnthePotomac Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Anyone on here tried the Yamaha Blue Marine Grease in their frame bearings? Its use is gaining in popularity on another forum. I have always used Super Lube to pack frame bearings. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 22, 2013 Super User Posted January 22, 2013 I pack mine with the Cal's Purple grease. Quote
UBA Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I use it on gears and frame bearings in baitcasters. I think it's a little thicker and tackier than super lube, but works better than allot of other greases I've tried over the years. Quote
BobP Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I also use Superlube grease and see no reason to change. I think most marine greases are especially thick and viscous and using it in anything but a big offshore reel is overkill. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Frame bearings are pinion bearings and drive shaft bearings for two. Quote
