Super User iceintheveins Posted March 23, 2010 Super User Posted March 23, 2010 They look identical to the spro frogs and the colors are even EXACTLY the same. One reviewer even said they don't take on water as bad as the spros, and at 4.99 they look well worth trying. Anyone tried them yet? Quote
Brian4618 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 I bought two of them, the body sits very far down in the water, and the frogs i bought take on excessive amounts of water. I find myself squeezing streams of water out after every cast. The colors are nice, and the hooks are very sharp, but I think ill spend the few more dollars and get a Spro or R2S frog. Quote
Kowen117 Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 my spro took on so much water it sunk after every cast Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 24, 2010 Super User Posted March 24, 2010 my spro took on so much water it sunk after every cast I have a answer for that! Get some Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog! Or better yet, get the new Phat Frog from Snag Proof you CAN'T sink it!!!! Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Just get some R2S frogs and you will have no further issues. Quote
Wild Bill [NY] Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Ish's Phat Frog is the 'fashizzle'... It will NOT sink !! It has a built-in, sealed air bladder. On the other bodies syles, like the Spro, BPS, or Bobby's Perfect frogs [and many others], take some MegaStrike, and slather some right into the hooks holes on the frog torso [front and back], and then slather more on the frog's belly to help it slide along over slop and lily pads. When the Bass engulf's 'el froggo', the added scent may make the Bass hold it a bit longer , enough for you to set the steel to it. Set the hook to cross the fish's eyes; no namby-pamby hooksets, please. I am a certifiable frog-aholic, addicted to froggy since 1969. Since 2002, there is a frog color-pattern marketed nationwide named after me, The Wild Bull frog. Yeah, I got frog-addiction really bad. Ribbit, ribbit...right at y'all. :D Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 24, 2010 Author Super User Posted March 24, 2010 Does the river 2 sea frog not sink as much as the spro? I like the spro but it does seem to take on too much water and can sink. I doctored them by caulking the hook hole and then cutting a small slit on the top so the frog body would still collapse. I know I will be getting Ish's Phat Phrog though. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 24, 2010 Super User Posted March 24, 2010 I had a few R2S frogs............they sunk worse than any other I have ever had. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted March 25, 2010 Author Super User Posted March 25, 2010 How does Ish's phat frog walk the dawg? Quote
FishnBen Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I saw Ish give a seminar on these frogs. And all he does anymore is Walk frogs. And he designed it, so....there's your answer! haha Quote
powerman970 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 The H2O frogs are even cheaper than the Kermy and are much beter frogs IMO. Quote
