Lunker7 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Introduction Hi! My name is Vince and I am a 14 year old fisherman from southeastern Pennsylvania. I have been fishing since I was 2, and fishing is my favorite thing to do. I am not necessarily looking to get sponsored for free stuff, I would just like to help spread the name of a smaller company out there, and get myself involved in the great world of tournament fishing. Experience I have been fishing for 12 years now, having been introduced to fishing by my dad and my uncle when I was a just little boy. I currently fish about 3 or 4 times a week during the bass fishing season, sometimes more. I am very fortunate to live within 3 miles of two great bass fishing areas, and to have a vacation home near another great fishing lake. I feel that I am a skilled fisherman, and seek improvements in these skills each and every time I hit the water. Skills I have listed below some of the areas of fishing I feel that I am strong in. Crankbaits Jigs Swimbaits Texas rigging soft plastics Education At the moment I am still in 8th grade(middle school), and have achieved in my opinion, a strong study habit for later education. I currently possess a 96% grade average and have earned high honor roll three years in a row. I plan on finishing high school, college, and grad school, and maybe get a job in the dentistry field. In conclusion, I just want to help a smaller company out there in spreading their name. I have many friends/family members who are big fishermen, and would help me (and you) in doing so. I am an experienced fisherman, and I feel that I would be a great addition to your staff. I know I am young, but I feel that I am "old" for my age. If you would consider giving me an e-mail, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. My e-mail address is VinnieTbro@gmail.com Quote

reaction-strike Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Vince, I wish I had a fishing resume when I was 12. I think you are on the right track. My advise to you, is to join a local bass club as soon as you are able to. I am not sure of the age limit of clubs in your area, if there are in fact any. Fish as much as you can. Learn as much as you can. Find products that you believe in, you do not want to push a product on friends that you think are no good. Go to fishing product trade shows. Talk to people. Get a part time job at a Gander/Bass Pro/ Cabeles or even a local tackle shop. Learn the business side.....Go to College/University and when you do this try as hard as you can to find a school that not only has your area of study but also has a bass fishing team. This would give you a sound resume. This is just my advise. Good luck to you. Quote
tbone1993 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Keep it up kid you have a long road ahead of you. Try and fish some tournaments if you can. Its best if you start pretty young and win a couple to put them on your resume. Get a good collection of gear, I suggest rods that have lifetime warranties that way they will last for years while you start. Focus on your grades more than anything. Fishing should be your backup career. Trust me it is a tough industry to get in to. I would rather a solid job and be fishing on the weekends than struggling to make ends meet. Good luck, tight lines. Quote
bmlum415 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 you know ive fished since i was 2 as well and im 15 now, i fish all the time and strictly for bass, its tough to get sponsored at your age as well as mine, im pretty goood considering ive won a good number of highschool tournaments to add to that. i also have good grades with a 3.8 gpa ,but i suggest keeping up in school and get your name out there, do something what i do sometimes and go to fishing shows and talk to pros and have a good conversation. join a highschool team and eventually a college team too, as well as local bass clubs. im trying to get into the WON bass motherlode circuit which will help with my name being put out there, also you may need to feel confident in other techniques as well like my number 1 strength is in finesse presentations but i feel very confident in everything except for cranks and and throwing those gosh d*** frogs lol oh and buzzbaits. my point is you should work a biit more and get involved as well as get a good education. sorry for the crappy spelling, its late and i dont care to fix mistakes, good luck and hope to fish against you one day Quote
bmlum415 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 oh and dont forget to save for a boat, ive got 4,000 saved so far in 2 1/2 years and i dont plan on getting one until im 20 or maybe older, ive got my eye on a 20+ foot boat of some kind used probably a stratos or triton if i can find one, if im lucky maybe a phoenix or legend Quote
