I'm stepping up my river fishing this year. Just got a new Dobyns 682SF, going to pair with a Pflueger Supreme 8230MGX spinning reel.

What would be a good line for my setup, using mostly 1/8-1/4 baits (tubes, craws etc)??

Heard good things about Sunline Shooter and Sniper, not sure if these are worth the price. I have used PP 20/6 with Fluoro leader in the past with my M spinning setup.

Just want to see what others prefer for river fishing.

Thanks.

Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6, .010" diameter, 11.9 lb breaking strength.

If your water is generally stained, I recommend "Purple Smoke";

for gin clear water, "Green".

Sniper is worth it. But the seagar lines are good too and cost less. No experience with yo zuri, but have heard only good stuff about it

RW gave me the same advice years ago and that is all i have fished

From Erie to KY lake and everywhere in between it has never let me down.

Would Yo-Zuri Hybrid 4# be the way to go with the smaller sized reel? Going to be using a size 30 Pflueger Supreme.

I did try it on a spinning reel a few years back and had some issues...... however, I think that was 8lb and may have been way to 'big' for 1500 series sized Shimano spinning reel.

Well, I actually use #4 on my smallmouth rig. The 7-7 I caught on the RoadTrip last

spring was on #4. The particular reel is a Stella 2500FE. I have #4 spooled on two

other reels, including a Symetre 500FJ. I like it!
