Got to hit an old farm pond for two hours, found one cold hungry little bass, on the first time using a drop shot rig, with a 4" robowarm margarita mutilator.

It was worth ever minute!

Hey Trapper,

My first one of 2013 was a dink.

The second one was a two-pounder.

Caught at a small lake by my house fishing off a friend's dock and pontoon boat.

Both hit a flat sided crankbait near the pontoon boat.

My first bass of 2013 wasn't much different... A 1.5 pounder at my golf course.

Thanks!

Heck yea lots of room for improvement, it hasn't been terribly cold this jan in OK so I made it my mission to get my first bass in the first month.

Last year was warm as well I was catching bass on top water late feb early march.

Congrats!  I have a while to wait until my 1st of 2013.  My lakes are frozen and not frozen enough to ice fish so I am in that bass fishermens hell!

A fish is a fish. My first fish of 2013 was a chain pickrel that was trying hard to get wrapped around my trolling motor. My first bass wasnt much bigger than yours. My 1oz football jig and trailer took up the whole inside of its mouth...lol
