Al Wolbach Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I live in East Tennessee and in the last 96 hours we have received over 9 inches of rain as measured by my rain gauge. It is raining like the devil now but is supposed to stop raining in order to start snowing this afternoom. The weather guesser is predicting 3-6 inches of snow this afternoon. WTFO? I live on Douglas Lake which has 550 miles of shoreline and is lowered by approximately 50 feet in the winter for flood control(TVA lake). The lake has come up 27 feet and TVA is predicting it will rise another 10 feet in the next 48 hours. The fish don't know what to do, or the fishermen. I have lived on this lake for 12 years and have seen nothing like this before. The weather forcast for tomorrow is for sunshine, thank you God.............Al Quote

Super User Teal Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 In North eastern NC, weve had a lot of rain this week. All day everyday. I expect this week will put some water in our lakes. Tonight they re calling for snow in raleigh and west of there... ugh. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 Im stuck in d**n traffic trying to get home. Snow is every where. This is insane. On a lighter note. While snow was dumping from the sky at work we had a snowball fight. Nothing like Alabama snow to turn a bunch of grown construction workers into children. I love life. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 17, 2013 Super User Posted January 17, 2013 No rain or snow here. Just cold. Quote
plumworm Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Please send some of that rain and snow up here to northern Wi. All our lakes and rivers are begging for it. Quote
Basseditor Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 We need rain too. Falcon and Amistad are almost 40' low. But you guys can keep the snow. I moved to Texas to get away from cold and snow. 1 Quote
Broke bass fisherman Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Here in sw VA, rain past two days, now snow. Got 7 inches in about three hours an it's still snowing. Will see if anything is open in the am but at this rate I doubt it. The New river is swollen up probably about 10 feet up from where it was. Will see what happens. Quote

I moved to Texas to get away from cold and snow. Most lakes I fish aren't even 40' feet deep....we are getting snow here in the Richmond va area too. I was in nova today and had the pleasure of driving back as it was starting to rain. Quote

My son drove through Birmingham yesterday on his way to Mississippi. He told me the only traffic problems he ran into were there and caused by the snow...................Al Quote
Al Wolbach Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Al, you sound like your a little bit bored, you gonna be ok there bud? lol! I have been wanting to crappie fish and with the lake muddy and rising they will not bite. It will take a few weeks for the lake to drop back to normal and clear up. However I will survive lol.................Al Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 19, 2013 Global Moderator Posted January 19, 2013 Send some of that rain to Kansas! I saw pictures of one of our biggest lakes yesterday and the top of the outlet at the dam is almost out of the water now! You can literally walk across the Kansas river in a lot of places right now and some lakes aren't going to be accessible by boat next year at the rate we're going because the ramps are so far out of the water.
