I just bought a pack and I've never been fond of top water lures except the spro frog and I was wondering if anyone else has had any success on these. They seem like soft zara spooks which is an amazing lure.

Any tips or opinions on these would be cool.

I picked up a pack a few weeks back but have not had a chance to throw them . The reviews I have read are mixed at best. Most prefer the smaller size (3.5 "). I watched a BPS show where Horton was fishing them over grass. It looked great.

are they hollow?

It doesn't seem to me like it would have a good hookup ratio.  A spro bronzeye seems to catch fish as good as any rat, although fish probly see a ton of bronzeyes now.

I was looking at buying these, but didn't yet. There are so many topwater lure choices, if you bought half of them, you'd be broke. I usually use poppers or frogs, but I saw these and definitely will try them soon, and as posted earlier, they do recommend big hooks

3 1/2 recemond 5/0 hooks while 4 1/2 do requires 7/0 but i prefer 3 1/2 because its lighter and better action i did test it in my pool

4 1/2 is around 3/4 while 3 1/2 is 1/2 oz

I've been considering these baits also but haven't seen any favorable (or unfavorable for that mater) reviews yet, so at least for now I'm sticking with Zera Spooks.

Perhaps spooks are better for open water, but the money hound is weedless, the alternative is topwater frog, toad, or rat.
