We had our club meeting last night. Our tournament for April is on this lake. I am fishing as a co-angler. It is a 2 day tournament on the 20th and 21st. I have never fished this lake and would appreciate some tips.

Thanks

If i ever get my old tinboat decked and engine running, its on my to do list of lakes for sure, i have heard its a good one!

Check out the Oklahoma Fishing Notebook

They post reports of various lakes, and im sure someone in the message board has fished Sardis some time and can give you some info.

I just pre-registered for the BWS last night as a co-angler, so March will be Grand on the 9th with BFL and Tenkiller on the 23rd with BWS.

Good luck!

Thanks! I'll check it out.

I'll give ya a little tip for Grand.  1/4 oz Scrounger jig head with a baby bass fluke around the docks!  The lake record was caught this past summer on that same bait.  I also tossed this same bait at Tenkiller and the Brownies seemed to like it as well. Good Luck to you as well!

Woot! Thank you for the tip much appreciated!

One of the reason I'm wanting to fish these tourneys is to get on some waters I have never been on with some anglers that I can learn from.

On the 1/4 oz head use the 4". BPS has the heads with a few plastics with them. Around 3.50 a piece. My Wally world has the as well just a little cheaper.

Also on Grand. Have a buzzbait or spook tied on. If you come to any wave breaks or seawall throw it out along both sides. They ALWAYS have fish on them.

Excellent! I am currently making a Lake Notes on my iphone cause if i dont write this stuff down i will never remember!

I cant wait to try the Scrounger out even at my local farm pond, last year i introduced myself to caffeine shads.... killer! just fishing them weightless similar to the fluke but just have a strong coffee smell the bass loved them! But my fist thought was try one of those bad boys on that Scrounger jig as well.

Man i am so excited to be doing this co-angler thing this year, march can't come soon enough! just hope i get a decent boater.

I want to try to fish more and learn more this year is why i decided to try out the co-angler.

One more for ya for Grand.  A #5 shad rap in natural color.  Make sure it's the balsa and not the plastic.  Throw it on light line.  I usually use a spinning reel and a 7' M rod.  Set the drag and hold on.
