As a co-angler I have avoided scents like JJ's or MegaStrike because I am clumsy and don't want to stain a boat that isn't mine.  Does anyone put these scents on the night before?

Thoughts?

Megastrike won't stain anything. I prefer to do the JJ's before I'm on the water, but if your careful, you'll be fine.

Felix, you will get a kick out of this story.

In my bass club there is a guy who prides himself with his Bassmaster Classic Triton. It is a beautiful boat and he loves it more than anything.

So I am the nonboater and I have some SpikeIt with me to use to stain the tail ends of the plastics.

Guess what? I spilled some on his seats. His very special, one of a kind Bassmaster Classic seats.

I had a heart attack. He was upset. I offered to pay to have the seats cleaned.

He never said anything about it and I learned that Spike It will dissapate in the sun, which it did. You can't tell it ever happened.

So don't be afraid to use JJs Magic. If you want to be careful take a long a plastic container and place the JJs bottle in the container and keep the bottle lid and bottle in the container as you dip your plastics.

Or be extremely careful and dip over your Plano box or your tackle bag.

You can scent your plastics the night before. An old pro used anise and oil to do this the night before.

Did it work? I really don't know other than he always caught bass.

If you want you can take some sardine oil and soak your plastics in that. It may or may not work but it sure will stink!!!!

Felix,

When I use plastics I always pour a little clear JJ's In the bag the night before.

If I'm dipping the tips with chartreuse I'm careful when on the boat.

Soak with anise and baby oil the night before and you're good to go.
