Shane Procell Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Billy Bob Crosno peacefully passed on last night. He was the greatest and longest working professional bass fishing guide in South Florida. He was a Bass Pro Shops staff member, giving seminars at store openings around the country. He had won numerous tournaments back in the day and hosted his own fishing show at one time. He did not advertise but stayed booked year around. He helped established many of the homemade boat ramps we use to this day. He was quick with a story and had a fantastic personality. He was a mentor to many of the South Florida guides and he was my friend. I will be forever gratefull for his kindness towards me. He will be greatly missed. 1 Quote
Gotfishyfingers? Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Aww man that sux! That guy knew a lot about S. Fl Bass fishing. When I would go to bass pro and his truck/boat was out front I would get excited. I would be sure to go say hi to him. He will surely be missed. R.I.P Billy Bob. :sad10: Quote
piscicidal Posted January 13, 2013 Posted January 13, 2013 Rest in peace, Billy Bob. He was a nice man...always had an encouraging word for my kids when we saw him at BPS. Gave my daughter some pink senkos which she still has. He made sure to tell my son that they were bubblegum (not pink) and he should try them as well. Quote
954R70 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Sad news for sure. Recently fished against him this past summer in a night owls tourney. RIP Billy Bob. Quote
1234567 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I met him once at a ramp in the glades and seemed like a very nice guy! My condolences to his family and friends. Quote
