I would be interested to see photos of the entire rod including the specs.. Brian I wonder if it is even the same rod. It's looks like it was slammed or stepped on.

teal, that was one of my leading theories......... that he had an another steez or the same steez and bought mine to replace it. with the intent to cry wolf by using pictures of the rod he broke.

I totally agree that type of damage can not happen during shipping in PVC without the PVC getting damaged too.

I just don't know how that happens.....why would I ship both pieces even if I was shipping a broke rod to screw someone? I guess I am too logical and honest to understand how the scammers work.

When I was a police officer every now and then we would get a call to Walmart or Lowes because someone would go buy a new product, like an air conditioner or DVD player, then go home home and put their own item of the same model in the box and carry it back to the store to get their money back.

It makes me sick.

Good luck. My one bad experience with PayPal/eBay was ridiculous. The amount of work they wanted me to do was crazy. Mine was a fraud case though where someone stole my account info and bought some gold with it. PayPal wanted a signed affidavit a police report among other things and wouldn't provide me any more details other than what was listed in the transaction. Through my own detective work I was able to get my money back but it made me not use eBay for about 5 years....

I hate that paypal and ebay almost always side with the buyer.

its more a coin toss so don't worry.  i bought size 12 snowboard boots off ebay.  when received they were size 44 from ITALY and were too small (11 1/2 usa).  you can look at 5 conversion charts and get 5 different answers.  the seller wouldn't refund my money. i opened a case which should have been a no brainer. long story short they sided with the seller. that was the last time i ever used my bank account with paypal.  now i always change my 'fund source' to my back up credit card.  visa's protection is 1000x's better than any paypal/ebay bull.

i would stress the "reshipping" address mentioned.  ebay probably deals with people like this alot. i'd agree to a refund if the rod is returned. i've had rod's replaced with no original receipt.  call Diawa to confirm.

so eBay made their ruling. They ruled that he is to ship it back, and I am to give a refund..........

so I called eBay, after 4 people I got a person I could deal with. I told them that the ruling was unacceptable and I will not wait 3 weeks to get the rod back from a place it was not authorized to be shipped to in the fist place.

I told them I shipped a fully intact rod, and was delivered on Dec26 and the buyer claims to only get the rod 3 days ago. I told the buyer the rod was delivered on 26, buyer said he had to ship to Europe. I stressed again he address(paypal) was a reshipper and I should not have to be responsible for that.

Ebay agreed, stating the minute it got delivered my seller duties were fulfilled, and any reshipping is on the buyer. Items reshipped are not covered under ebay buyer protection.

bottomline, he keeps the rod I keep the money.

Cased is now listed as closed. Reason: item not covered under buyer protection.

GOOD GUYS $260 BAD GUYS 0!!!!!!!!!!

I was hot this morning son!!!!!!!

I was so mad, which was the reason I called to see why in the world they made the decision they made. It seemed like nobody had even read the emails I sent this weekend.

Lesson learned, even though it went my way is: Always call to verify and find out the reasoning behind the decision.

agreed, its always better to call. most times its a person in India quickly processing emails. always pays to get a person on the phone.

Oh....so that made a ruling at first without using all the info?

Did you ever call daiwa to check on what the warranty actually is on the steez line up. It would be stupid if the warranty only covered the original owner. I mean its a 500 dollar rod, that's a fishermens family heirloom. For that kind of money there should a bullet proof warranty

I never called daiwa. I didn't want to until I had to kinda thing.

and really I wasn't going to feel comfortable do so anyway, cause they would ask how it happened.

Do I say I shipped to some guy that scammed me and here it is. Do you cover that??LOL

or do I tell the white lie, I was chucking spinnerbaits and the thing just snapped, and the tip guide imploded!

either way I am ecstatic it's not coming to that. even though small, eBay has renewed my faith in people......at least until I watch the news tonight HA!
