Hollow body frog question?

Well two questions actually...

1. Is the line tie on hollow body frogs supposed to move? (twists slightly to the left and right)

2. How do you change out the hooks on these?

yes the line tie does move , it is like a double ended eyelet , one end connects to the hook , the other one is the line tie . to swap out the hooks , you have to sometimes cut a split in the belly , use needle nose pliers and seperate the "line tie" that connects the hook , change out the hook , then crimp the "line tie" back again , seal the belly with silicone adhesive . make sure you let the silicone dry at least over night and leave it out in the open so to air out(cause of the slight fumes) . a suggestion if you like , try the Owner frog hooks , the best made frog hooks in my opinion . i used to change out the gamakatsu stock hooks cause they seem to dull easy and bend out from the body after being stuck on tules , Owners don't

Thanks for the info! I was wondering if there was something wrong with the frog that I bought.  Its good to know that they are supposed to be like that.

I never noticed the line tie moving so much as the whole hook will move inside the frog body.

I never needed to change out hooks because the body would get pretty tore up b4 the hooks needed changing but owner makes a frog hook that is really strong and really sharp.

The line tie does move.

To replace the hooks, slide the hook out from the back of the frog, the line tie is attached to the hook so it will all slide out. Once you get it out, you will see how to replace the hooks. Sliding it back in can be the hard part. You can use some thick Mono to tie to it and thread it back into the frog, or some thing wire.

Tie a piece of heavy line to the eye before you pull out the hook and swivel, that way you won 't have to struggle to insert the new swivel and hook, you just tie the line to the swivel eye and pull the line to reinsert both into the frog body.
