Super User A-Jay Posted January 9, 2013 Super User Posted January 9, 2013 Well here is a Big Time Welcome to the Smithwick Lure Company ~ ! Congratulations to Jack Smithwick, for recognizing what Bass Resource is all about and the great things ahead. The attached paragraph is a little of the companies history from their web site. A-Jay "The growth of the Smithwick Lure Company is legendary. From its humble beginnings in my family’s kitchen in 1947 to its sprawling manufacturing facilities today, the lures have become the favorites of generations of anglers. The continued development of new Smithwick fishing lures, new colors and the latest in lure finish technology is a tribute to the foresight my father, Jack K. Smithwick, demonstrated back in 1947. All of us at the Smithwick Lure Company are proud of the standards he established for quality, value and performance, all attributes anglers have come to know and expect from Smithwick Lures for over six decades. This is how he set himself apart. Set yourself apart—with Smithwick." Jack A. Smithwick Quote
Super User 00 mod Posted January 9, 2013 Super User Posted January 9, 2013 The devils horse has been one of my favorite topwaters for a long time! And we catch em on the white river on Rogues! This is great news! Jeff Quote
Basseditor Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Cool, just packed my Rogue boxes last night for this weekend. It's that time. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted January 9, 2013 Super User Posted January 9, 2013 I can't tell you how many Rogue fish I've caught over the years. They are a great option for guys not willing to shell out the big bucks for Lucky Craft, Jackall, OSP, and even Rapalas, which can get a little pricey. I do recommend throwing them on spinning gear, at 3/8 oz. it's just easier to manage. A 6'6" MF rod with 8# copoly or 15-20 braid and leader will work fine. 1 Quote
endless Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Talk about being caught off guard. I was expecting a report or review. WELCOME TO BASS RESOURCE!! Will the be posting in the forum as well or in the fishing articles? The link not working for me. Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 9, 2013 Super User Posted January 9, 2013 This is great. Smithwick is a staple in the industry. I have never met a serious bass fisherman that didn't have a rogue In his box somewhere. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I finally bought my first Smithwick lure the other day - Devil's Horse in black and yellow. If my lakes weren't frozen I'd throw one tomorrow! Welcome aboard. Quote
