Super User rippin-lips Posted January 8, 2013 Super User Posted January 8, 2013 Looking to add the shaky head and drop shot to my techniques this fishing season. Well not add but put to use a lot more then I do now. Don't want to spend a lot just in case I don't stick with it but still will have a good all around rod if that happens. 6'10 M/XF 6-12lb 3/16-1/2oz lures 10 guides total $70 Quote
central.PA.bass Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Rod should work well with both applications. I use that same rod throwing senkos with a 1/16 or 1/8 oz tungsten bullet weight..... Works awesome! 1 Quote

I ordered that one from TW yesterday and then found them for $20 cheaper elsewhere so I'll be getting a second. Plus I like things to match haha 1 Quote
Super User Teal Posted January 9, 2013 Super User Posted January 9, 2013 It's nice any time you can call for simple questions and speak to the owner of the company. I bet that was informative! Good luck with your new rods. That's why I continue to move forward buying from small companies like Powell whenever I can. Quote

Yeah he was very nice and answered all I wanted to know. Even explained some things I never even thought about. He thanked me multiple times for even considering buying a Powell. Overall a great experience. Yes I agree with the small company buying. I don't own a single shimano. There's enough fan boys for them out there. 2 Quote
bassandcats Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I got the same one for christmas along with the 7'2 MH baitcaster and love both. I got a president reel on the spinning one and it balances nice. i got mine for wacky senkos as well. Its definatly an extra fast rod. Its very nice, top notch for the price. 1 Quote
bman310 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I've been using the Powell Diesel spinning rod since mid summer 12 and really like it. I've been using it for drop shots, flick shake, and texas rigged plastics. -b Quote
