The Hawk ~ Manuel Salazar -

The Man, The Myth, The Legend.

A-Jay

I think this might happen.

Now for my touring pro choice :  without a doubt Shaw Grigsby.  The man has been fishing pro, almost as long as I have been alive.

not living choice:  Dale Earnhardt Sr, not a fishing pro, but avid outdoorsman and we shared many of the same interests.

pro but not touring:  Big-O.  He has the same philosophy I try to have.  Find the biggest fish in the water and fish for that one fish!

Gotta be Bill Dance. Bill caught a 3# bass once and had to take it to a fisheries biologist to confirm that it was really a bass. He had never caught one that small before......lol

For me it'd have to be KVD half a day of map study half day of fishing and I'd just watch. O and have him tune up my Humminbird.

The Hemphill gang: Larry Nixon, Harold Allen and Tommy Martin. I wouldn't mind spending a day with Dee Thomas or Bobby Barrack either. Some day I would like to fish with Gary Dobyns. All these guys have added HISTORY to the sport and some still are.

KVD for the skills, but Jeff Kriet for the thrills.

The few times I've seen Kriet on fishing shows, he seems hilarious.

I would love to go frogging with Dean Rojas.

That would be a cool trip

As someone who owns a tour jersey autographed by him, I think if I had to choose one guy it would be Shin Fukae. I've always wanted to really work on my finesse fishing skills and he'd be the one I'd choose. Besides, I love his attitude...he always seems to be having a great time fishing even if he's catching the wee ones.

If Fukae was busy that day, I wouldn't mind going out with Mike Iaconelli. He could shout "Never give up!" when I land the big one, ha ha.

I'm going big o all day. I would love to get on some of those falcon SLOBS!

Kvd would be up there too. My biggest weakness is deep cranking. I think he might be able to teach me a thing or 2.

Gerald swindle as well. He would be a blast to fish with!

Brent Chapman would be my pick. I've met and talked to the guy several times, even done some archery target shooting with him as he's also an avid bow hunter. He's very down to earth and just a really cool, nice guy and he's very knowledgeable. Seems to be a very dedicated husband and father as I've seen him on the water fishing with his kids a few times or walking the aisles at Bass Pro or Cabela's carrying his kids and answering all their questions. He also fishes similar to how I fish but is much better than I am at certain kinds of fishing so I think it would be easier to learn from him since he may be able to explain things to me in a way that I could understand.

KVD would be a blast too. Not sure I'd want to fish behind him but just to spend a day in the boat watching and listening to him would be awesome.

Denny Brauer would be another top pick for me. I wish I had some of his swing for the fences way of thinking. Often my problem is fishing for bites instead of fishing for the right bites.

Zona would be a good time. I'd love to get on some of that northern smallmouth bed fishing with him. Plus he seems like a rolling blooper reel in the boat.

Gerald Swindle or Ike both down to earth guys who know their stuff.

My top choices.

Bill Dance because he's funny and will probably fall out of the boat at least once.

Shaw Grigsby because he seems quite approachable and would be a good teacher. That funny mustache is amusing to me as well.

Lastly, Takahiro Omori because his last minute win is one of my favorites and I'd love to ask him to keep saying "troll", "Rapala" and "flipping".

I'd say mark rose. That guy knows deep water fishing better than anyone in the country right now. Ledge fishing that is. My second choice would be David Dudley I just like the guys fishing style and he knows how to win.

Hank Parker,a friend of mine was on his show in the late 80's and said he was a super guy on and off the air. Jerry Mckinnis, used to get up early when I was a kid to catch "The Fishin Hole". Mike D from Lunkerville,he doesn't take himself so seriously.
