=Matt 5.0= Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I'd rather use dynamite. You must catch too many fish. We have a lot of guys that would just like to catch some. The Senko is and has been the #1 producer for more than a decade. I suspect it will be #1 for another 10 years. 8-) Yeah, it's actually pretty lame seeing all the bloated, discarded senkos laying on the bottom. Give me a jig anyday. Quote

Palm trees and Fat Ikas are the same bait, from the same factory. Just a different package, and some different colors. For colors, the same you would normally use. Something natural for clear water, something bright or very dark for off colored water. Quote
b.Lee Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Went to my local bait monkey store today, they just moved into a new location, and I couldn't find the Fat Ika's I freaked out for a second, until they showed me I was in the wrong isle. Quote
IntroC Posted March 18, 2010 Author Posted March 18, 2010 Thanks for the boost in confidence in these baits. I have been catching the bass pretty good at this powerplant lake on power worms and I think the bass are getting conditioned to the worms. Looking for something with a different look and I seen these hanging on my wall of shame and remembered hearing about them for smallies. Wasn't to sure about the large mouth variety. Looks like They'll be getting some Fat Ikas to eat. Thanks again fellers. Quote
b.Lee Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Yeah I am pretty sure the two I pictured are largmouth. I have yet to catch any smallies in my bass fishing career so. yeah. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I can't believe I've never tried these. They look like prime skipping baits. Quote
JKarbo214 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 How does everyone fish these? T-Rigged weightless? Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 I tried skipping them once, I'm not that good at it, and the Ika sorta did a tumble, and stopped before it got to where I wanted it..lol They cast pretty far on 8 or 10lb line weightless. Super User Hammer 4 Posted March 19, 2010 Super User Posted March 19, 2010 All I had at the time was my bc rig. Plus there aren't many places locally that require skipping.. But I'll give it a shot with the spinning rig. jrk Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Ever since RW turned me on to these last summer, this and the senko have been producing for me all season...snow, ice and now. 4 pounder tonight and a 4 and 3 pounder last night. Quote
seyone Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 The fat Ika are one of my favorite soft plastics. I recently picked up a couple packs of Damiki's Hydra. I haven't thrown them yet but they look similar. Quote
b.Lee Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Yeah the Daimiki look cool because of the ball ends on the arms. Quote
