Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Latest Line: Bama is a 9 1/2 point favorite

Over/Under:40

Last time ND was beat was by FSU in the Champs Sports Bowl, does anybody remember the Noles comeback victory over the Fighting Irish?  The major things that have changed for ND since that loss is the starting QB, some coaching positions, and the number 1 in front of their name on the BCS computer rankings, making all the difference between last year's unranked 8-5 team and this year's 12-0 team!  Alabama has played like the champions of last year until "Johnny football" did them in. Ultimately the game needs to be played to see who is deserving of being named the top collegiate football team in the country, but in my opinion Alabama is going to play like champions and the team from South Bend is going to be on the receiving end of the defeat.

My prediction:

Alabama 28

Norte Dame 16

What is your take?

If it is anything like 1988 and the catholics vs the convicts Notre Dame wins & Brian Kelly joins Knute Rockne, Frank Leahy, Ara Parseghian, Dan Devine & Lou Holtz as national championship winners. A fairy tale ending for sure.

I think Alabama, like the original prediction of 28-16. I think Bama runs ball with success in the second half to take control of the game.

However, if Notre Dame scores more points...they will win :laugh5:

Notre Dame dodged a few bullets this season and Alabama doesn't seem to be as strong as in some recent years. It'll be interesting. I won't make a prediction because my predictions on anything are worthless.

The other day I heard on a Sports Biz program that this game will set records for both betting and rating.

Tough one, seems like it could go either way. I see ND with some bigger motivation coming into this game, against the "mighty sec" and the fact that Bama has been there before recently, whereas its been awhile for ND. I see ND coming out strong, but in the end, Bama just wears them down in a fairy low scoring game.

Bama - 17

Irish - 10

My heart wants ND..........but my head says Alabama. I don't think it will even be close, kind of like the times Ohio State played in the champ. games, the SEC is just too strong.

I'm going with the SEC.  I give it a good game and then Lacy takes over.

Bama- 27

ND- 19

And the game MVP will be Eddie Lacy.

Apparently Notre Dame printed a t-shirt that says, "Catholics vs. Cousins." I came up with an amazing rebuttal, but I won't say it on here as I will probably get in trouble and offend a lot of people. I will say it VIA PM if anyone wants a laugh. :)

Well...if you've been watching the bowl games...especially the Orange Bowl...perhaps it's time for the SEC to stop believing their own write-ups...they can be beaten and they will be beaten again tonight....Go Irish...

What the Orange Bowl gotta do with this game? Trust me, Alabama isn't taking Notre Dame lightly...

Oops...Sorry about that...of the 8 Bowl games that the SEC has been in....the tally is 5-3 with the SEC on top....I guess that Notre Dame is doomed...All hail Nick Saban.....

Its going to be a good game. I would like to see Notre Dame win just so its not another SEC team winning again.  Hopefully it will just be a good hard hitting and competitive football game.
