I'm trying to figure out, though if the Curado reel I was looking at was much of a deal at $149.

Just a place called Ramakkos up here in Sudbury, Ontario. I'm afraid it's not a chain, just a local operated outdoors store in northern Ontario.

Looks like some good deals for sure, but around here, I don't think that the Red Eye Shad retails for $7.59 or the Havoc baits for $3.49.

That's part of the privilege of living in northern Canada. A short bass season and high-priced lures. :lolk:

I think it might have to do with the fact that everything i've ever seen with CA and US prices, everything is more expensive in CA. Just the value of the dollar there I guess.

the only problem I see is, you didn't get the rod you went to get. lol

Sigh, ha ha. And I found a nice one but it was for baitcasters so I would have needed to buy one...though I was lusting after that Curado that was there.

The funny thing is that our dollar and yours are basically at par. No, it's long been tradition that we get charged more regardless of what our dollar is doing. A few years ago when your dollar was trading at 90% of the Canadian dollar, the same vehicle went for several thousand more up here than it did down there.
