Interested to see if anyone has been blessed enough to get some sort of longevity out of their E21 rod. If so, what model.

I bought a couple of the regular orange ones with the black eva grips when they first came out and had zero trouble with them. They were really nice sticks. I traded them to a buddy after about a year and he still uses them regularly. Pretty sure they are 6'9" MH.

i had one but sold it in under 2 months. i liked everything except the tip...too stiff like a cheap rod. (nice hardware, balance, lightness, backbone). there are better rods for the money. spend a few more bucks and get a powell, duckett, st croix, dobyns savvy etc.

I've had a Carrot Stix Wild 7'MM for more than a full season & I use it often. I paired it up with a Quantum Smoke SL100HPT, its the lightest combo I own. I use it almost exclusively for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I actually like the action of the tip for spinners & chatterbaits. It helps set those thicker hooks on spinners and chatters. So far I haven't had any problems with it, but I baby my gear, I always keep a rod & reel protector on my mid to high end gear.

I've had a 6'10"MH Carrot Stix Gold as my squarebill/jerkbait/topwater rod for almost five years that has been very heavily used since it was purchased. The finish has been beaten of by rocks and chipped to the white blank, the tip guide has been grooved a bit but causes no trouble. I love that rod and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I like it so much that when TW liquidated they're stock, I bought a 7'10"M for $98 to use as a deepcrank rod and its a beast of a rod but still more balanced and lighter than my 7'MH Lucky Craft cranking rod. I also have a 7'ML Wild that was well worth the money.

I've heard a lot of hate on Carrot Stix since they came out and yes they did have some problems at the first go 'round but because the color and name, the bad rep stuck. You don't hear anyone slamming dobyns because of the Gen 1 Champions which had terrible breaking issues.

It all really boils down to if you want an orange rod, or a black one with a green butt, still don't understand that. If you do they are decent for the money. If you don't, don't buy one. I will say the old Golds look mighty nice with a Sol mounted on them.

I had the same original rod with black eva grips (7'3" mh) and wore groves into the guides after 2 months with copoly. Received a replacement (3 months later) and broke the rod in half after a week. I than complained to their upper management and received 2 replacements, one of which was their upper end micro guide rod with cork handles. The micro guide rod has been great for the past 3 years but the black eva rod had guide issues like the first one.

I have a 6'6" Carrot Stix that I bought early last season at half price on-sale at Gander Mountain.  It's an alright rod and it's still in one piece.  I really don't like the tip compared to my Phenix Recon.  It's pretty stiff and not the most sensitive.  I'll keep it around as long as it hangs in there.  It's probably going to be relegated to frog duty though.

I have an older 7' mh-f and same in a wild and have had zero problems with them. Had the classic for 4 years and the wild for 2. I recently just switched most of my rods to the micro guide series which I've only fished once. Like KYntucky said, people are going to bash them for breaking issues but I have yet to have one fail on me (knock on wood). You here a lot more negative stories about instances where products fail these days. Rarely do you see people post about how well their equipment performed for them.

You will find that is definitely NOT the case on this board. Everyone brags about their gear around here!

Did you break that on a hook set or what?

Yep. 3/8 oz jig, 40lb Power Pro, 1.5 lb fish. Reeled him in with rod like that. I e-mailed Carrot Stix and they don't have a website anymore, just a facebook. They wanted me to send the rod back on my dime (to Canada at that), plus pay 39.95 "shipping and handling fee" using my credit card through E-MAIL. I bought the rod brand new and registered the warranty when I bought it, I still even have the original receipt, and it broke just a few months later.

I'd have way too much money invested in a rod that will probably just break again. If you look at their facebook it's mostly people asking how to get a rod warrantied. Lesson learned, no more Carrot Stix for me.

I have 2. 7'6 H-F casting for frogs. The grips aren't my cup of tea, craps my hand. The rod has been performing well just nothing monstrous besides a few snags, lol. I also own a 6'7 M-F spinning for wacky, I do like this rod. I never bought neither one at full price. I do and won't lie have that breakage thought always in the back of my mind.
