Hi, I have a question about my rods. When you lean rods (and reels)on the wall and the handle is really close to the wall, is this bad for the rod?

I know it did with the old fiberglass rods. I don't think it has any negative effect on a graphite rod.

Some of mine are always leaning against a wall, I mean for months, and I see no problem, no curve or anything.

Just keep it upright, and not falling on the ground. Mine stand in the corner of a closet until tourney time.

I never let mine lean.... Lay them down or put them in an rod rack... It makes me cring seeing rods bent along the wall especially above a heat source

I hang mine on the wall using Berkley rod racks you can get at Walmart for around $10.

Same here. Years ago someone told me that if you left them leaning too long they will take that bend perminatly. IDK if they do or not, but when I started buying better rods I started using the racks just incase.

Exactly! If I'm paying up to $200 for a rod then I'm not going to chance it plus it's a nice way to showcase them all.

If you are storing them, take the reels off. I lay my rods flat in the boat rod locker with expando rod jackets on each rod to protect the guides. If the rods have reels on them, lay them flat with a bath towel between each combo in layers. Keeps the rods and reels out of harms way. I never keep a rod rigged over night; cut the lures/hooks off and restring and rig before fishing.
