They are now releasing the episodes on Friday instead of Mondays.  It's better than waiting until Monday, but it's still stupid to half to wait half the week after it comes on TV to watch the extended coverage.

My guess is The Outdoor Channel want it to air in the primetime slot before allowing them to release the episodes.  I can understand when you pay for something you want it now or on it's way when you do so.  Unfortunately television, whether we pay for it or not is driven by advertising. If people don't advertise then there aren't any shows or TV to watch.  Major League fishing is a start up.  They had to have backing from somewhere.

I believe things will get better as the concept grows.  I find myself cheering them on like I'm watching a stinking football game. I will be glad to wait to gain the wealth of knowledge from these guys!

X2

I agree.

I watched all last year.

I am a fan of the format and the coverage.

Had I known that they were planning to air the TV episodes well before making the on line shows available, I would not have paid for the the Extended Version.

I feel like they Boned me . . . . .

Loved episode two! Thoroughly enjoy this format. Edwin Evers is as a punk though sorry to see him move on!

More MLF! got to cheer on my fellow Okies tonight!

I cracked up when Evers lost that one cause the camera guy was to close and he couldn't swing it like he wanted.

"Ahhhhhh!" Lol hey it's a competition I know I would have been mad too, but he shook it off and it didn't cost him.

Just got done watching the extended episode 2, I dislike Aaron Martens more every time I see him. lol  It's super impressive to see how those guys can skip a jig.  Kinda thought it was funny that Kreit talked about making tackle adjustments at the breaks and never did.

Ok, you guys talked it up enough.  I'm just starting to watch and am only a few minutes in and it's already awesome!

Plus I just gotta say as much as I hate commercials, am I the only one who thinks the reactions to the Sasquatch by some dummy who's always got to be right (we all know someone like that) in the Jack Link's commercials is plausible?  I also think the Sasquatch reactions are completely understandable even justified really.  It's like poking the bear!

King, I was so thinking the same thing.  lol

We did learn 2 valuable things about Sasquatch, he is a poor loser and loves classical music.  lol

Pondboss your absolutely right!

Just finished watching the first episode and first let me say I've never really watched a tournament before but have seen fishing shows before and I really enjoyed the online video.  It felt more fleshed out which I like and based on what others are saying I would expect the tv version if it's only an hour to feel more like a highlight reel.  So I appreciated the extended version.

Oh and I like the all keepers count thing.  I'm considering buying the season online.

Last but not least, Ike's screaming is driving me nuts.  But I understand that's his fishing persona and that adds to his popularity.  Just comes across kind of Happy Gilmorish to me.

Yeah Aaron is hard to describe, kind of a dork if you ask me, but a heckuva fisherman.  I don't see how he can win in this format using a drop shot, he did make the cut but once it's in the sudden death round I don't see how he has much of a chance.

Does anyone know if they stay on Chataqua for the whole thing, or do they move to another lake at some point?

And what the heck was Ish using for a bait below that giant tungsten sinker he was using?  I couldn't really get a good look at it, looked like a punching skirt with some kind of plastic bait.

last year the whole thing took place on Amistad and i assume this year will be the same way.

I wonder if they will have more than one event this year? Last year was called the Challenge Cup, with this year being The Summit Cup, but starting much earlier, maybe they will hold more than one event, I am sssuming this has been successful.

How has bass fishing missed out on the whole, Reality TV craze, like doing a "Survivor" type show, have pros compete in fishing comps, or fishing challenges + have elimination tourneys, or put the lowest two guys in a head to head match. I mean just follow any old reality tv formula out there, but just substitute bass fishing and our favorite pros.

example, see Redneck Island.

That or just give us more than one MLF event for the entire year. PLZ

After watching online the second episode I can only say the following:  in any showdown between Omori and Martens, I will be waving the Japanese flag. By God Martens is a complainer.

I've always liked Jeff Kriet -

His perspective on fishing and just about anything else always makes me smile -

I think a better format for a reality show would be to use non-pros with the grand prize being sponsorship for one year to give the winner a chance to make it on the pro circuit. A show like that obviously wouldn't appeal to the major tv networks but it would probably do well on one of the outdoor or sports related networks.

for fellow golfers out there, you may remember the "big break" series on the golf channel..........8-12 top ams (cant remember) would compete through several skills challenges and competing on the course.

the winner got like 50K and exemptions to various PGA tour events........ I think it would be a great idea to extend to fishing. and would include and peak the interest of the "everyman".

What's hilarious is Martens on the cover of this month's Bassmaster extolled as a drop shot expert and failed pretty badly with that technique during the first period :-)

I'm not saying the cat can't fish, because he can. Compare him to Edwin Evers when the cameraman was in the way of landing the fish. Evers let it go fairly quickly. Martens would have brought it up the entire day. That's why I liked guys like Ish Monroe and Takahiro Omori from the last episode...bleep happens...keep fishing and keep smiling.

Big break was also acme to mind as well. I just want more fishing shows I guess, for the days I can't get out there! Lol

I have Dish and they do have one.  It is called WFN. I just watched 4 shows this morning.  34 and raining in Oklahoma.

Ish was throwing the Missle Baits D-Bomb behind that weight.

The main reason he failed with the drop shot is the fish were up shallow in the grass.  I'm not a drop shotter by any means, but I would think it would be really tough to fish a tethered weight in the grass.

Keep thinking that.............. Just because it wasn't working for him that day, on that body of water, don't mean it dosen't........trust me. I though it was a poor choice for him that day, not because of the grass, but because of the heavy alge blooms and pea soup water. It works a lot better in clear water, even in heavy grass. And btw, that grass that they showed them fishing, was far from "thick".
