Super User A-Jay Posted January 6, 2013 Super User Posted January 6, 2013 Biffle looked like he had a cameltoe in one of those shots! I know - This is the second time it has been mentioned here - And it was pretty Bogus man. . . . . In the interest of good taste, in the future I'd like to suggest that this be referred to as "Tommy Toe". A-Jay 4 Quote

Super User 00 mod Posted January 6, 2013 Super User Posted January 6, 2013 Just watched it and then read through this post. No mention of my favorite angler Shaw? Snuck in there right at the end. Talk about pressure. Jeff Quote
lmoore Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Big Shaw fan too. I was really happy with all 4 anglers that made it through. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 6, 2013 Super User Posted January 6, 2013 removed it, my mistake It's all good - I just mentioned it because I was surprised they even aired that shot. I get it, he wears short shorts but they should have left the close up of the man's junk on the cutting room floor. It didn't really add anything to the production, if you know what I mean. No worries. A-Jay 1 Quote
gripnrip Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 without a doubt it is worth it! Thanks Brian I'll check it out. Quote
prjavelin Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Im seriously considering dropping the money for the extended version as I just finished watching the first episode. It is awesome. I agree that this is the way the classic should be run. there were guys there that ive never seen and after the episode you knew something else about them. Its a great way to market the pros and the sport. Unlike some of you, I love the idea of the penalties and ensuring the fish get the best handling possible. How can you get the public to do it right if the best at catching them, treat them like a dirty sock? Im really happy with Grisby getting in there. I really like him for some reason. I think its his happy, relaxed personality even when he has the Magnum PI look. Quote
PondBoss Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Biffle and his male camel toe was hilarious if anyone noticed. I could do without Ike going nuts after every fish but I do enjoy his insight and passion to win. The outdoor channel just recently began airing on my direct t.v. and im loving it, along with the league fishing show.. Feeds my addiction in the dead of winter here in the midwest. I noticed the male camel toe too, it was kinda hard not to after all the pros kept calling them nut hugers. lol I get Ike going "Ike" but not after catching small fish, I totally understand getting jacked after a 3lb-5lb fish but yelling about 1lb-2lb fish is a bit over the top. And every fish regardless of the size as soon as he sets the hook, "big one". It was kinda funny of him to head butt the camera and his official though, but not needed. Quote
PondBoss Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 How is hitting the carpet worse than the fish being handled between both legs of the guy. That fish is loosing twice the slime it would if it just flopped on one side on the carpet. Plus all of them getting crushed behind the head, granted I'm sure that does little to no harm, just posing an argument that their fish care rules may not be all that better. I agree with the not throwing fish high in the air, but seriously Biffle and Brauer looked like they were gonna throw their back out after bending over so much. lol Loved it when Denny dropped the F bomb about the lake. Brian Needham Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 LOL, prjavlien.....Shaw does have the PERFECT 'stache. simply amazing Quote
Super User Shane J Posted January 7, 2013 Super User Posted January 7, 2013 I loved the format! That really IS the future of professional bass fishing. None of those fish died, and that's going to catch on. Great show and coverage! Quote
bassin is addicting Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 great show/tourney... having them tell what and why they are doing what they are is interesting. and them knowing where they stand and what all the others are catching is pretty cool too. i'm sure they are pretty intense but they seem to have more comments and insight than a regular tourney. shootermcbob Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Loved the show as well. Didn't care for what A-Jay has so aptly named the "TommyToe" I thought it was really funny when Hackney said "if that was my kid, He would be getting a whipping right now" after Ike went Ike. Glad for the folks who made it. Sorry that Timmy Horton did not make it. I am a fan of his. I remember a few years ago, when he had really long hair and I thought to myself, that man needs a haircut in the worst way. Then I read he was growing it long to donate it to "Locks of Love". Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. Kinda hard not to be a fan of his after reading about that. Can't wait for the next episode. 1 Quote
PondBoss Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 When do they post the new episodes of the extended coverage? I just bought it and can't watch the second day yet, what gives? Quote
grampa1114 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Well...after watching the first one....I'm hooked....$15.94 is cheap money to listen and learn from these guys while they dissect a lake. Great info and some pretty good entertainment also. This should be the new tournament format everywhere. JMHO 2 Quote
ChrisAW Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Right now I'm a little upset with these guys. Last year they made each episode available to paying customers online before they aired on TV. But they also didn't make earlier episodes available to people who paid half way through the series. I paid the fee to watch all the episodes just to find I would have still had to pay for the episodes that were already released, I would only be able to watch the ones released after I had paid. They promptly fixed that, but it seems this year they are making us wait. The first episode was available the day after it aired on TV. The second episode is not going to be available until MONDAY. After they are done airing the second episode on TV. I'm sorry but that is some BS. I could understand the day after, but making the PAYING customers wait a WEEK? Either they'll air it after enough people email them or I'm getting my money back. Both years they've tried to screw the people who are paying to watch their show, and its not going to keep going like this or they will start to lose a lot of customers. People are already making complaints on their Facebook page. I already emailed them... anyone who feels the same way should do so as well. 1 Quote

I went to the facebook page also and liked either your post or someone else's and gave my .02 on the matter. It's absolutely stupid to pay for a product and then have to wait a week after it's been on TV to see the added footage. Bad business model Quote
grampa1114 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 It just seems to me that it's worth a few dollars to get more than twice as much time (132min) with folks who know that much about something that I'm interested in...again JMHO. Quote
flippin and pitchin Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I hope the activists from PETA didn't view this program !! I could hear them sitting around the table drinking blueberry spinach iced latte's..... " Thats so foul and discusting....forcing those poor defenseless fishies to be thrust in the crotches of those big ugly nasty screaming fisherman. Lets start a lawsuit right now. Aren't bass protected under the US Consitution ? There must be an ammendment that covers crotch pollution for wildlife. And those noisy lines....what is it called.. braid ? It hurts my ears to hear that high frequency whine as thry reeled in those poor fish. I'll bet that line damages the cross members of those docks they kidnapped those fishies from. " Sorry, too much Kopi Luwak. 2 Quote

It is. But a lot of their customers do not have Outdoor Channel. (Like me) Why not allow the people who are willing to pay for it able to watch it just as soon as the people who are watching it free on TV? Why make us wait a week? Quote
grampa1114 Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 My guess is that the Outdoor Channel won't let them run the show without some delay period. But I don't know about that stuff. Perhaps someone involved with contractual television could answer better. Oh...and the Outdoor Channel is part of an extra charge package...so it's not 'free'. Quote

But I doubt they get the same amount as the people paying for the extended coverage. And it is basicly just what you said. Don emailed me back saying Outdoor channel is their main sponsor and is a 50% partner of Major League Fishing. So they have them by the balls and are treating the people who dont have Outdoor like freeloaders, even though we're paying MLF directly. There should be NO delay. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 10, 2013 Super User Posted January 10, 2013 The Major League Fishing site advertises that The Exclusive Extended Coverage (seen only on line) provides over twice as much as seen on TV. A-Jay Quote
IntroC Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 At first I was a bit turned off by all of Ike's yelling and screaming, now I get a kick out of it and look forward to it. My 5 year old absolutely loves it. I got to rewind it 3 or 4 times. My son loves Ike. It cracks us up. I visit a popular walleye tournament site and the last few years the walleye tourney trail has really been suffering and the can't figure out why. All you have to do is watch one one time and you'll see it right off...its lacking personality. The only way I can describe walleye tourneys is dry. Big personalities like Ike's is what makes bass fishing so popular. Quote
PondBoss Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 They are now releasing the episodes on Friday instead of Mondays. It's better than waiting until Monday, but it's still stupid to half to wait half the week after it comes on TV to watch the extended coverage. 1 Quote
