Jay Ell Gee Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 OMG!!! ITS BIGGER THAN THE SHOE!!!! after every fish reeled in he has to say didnt touch the carpet. Michael Iaconelli everybody! I was thinking the SAME thing... please stop talking about the carpet Ike. The bigger than the shoe thing did crack me up, though. But hey, he was probably just excited. Nerves can get you silly like that. The Hackney shot with him fishing while Ike screamed was absolutely classic. I kind of feel like he does the screaming act as a gimmick, perhaps to make him unique. Who knows. My absolute favorite quote from Ike for the day: "Tune into the Outdoor Channel. You can see that fish on TV!" What a way to pshych the competition Ike. Quote
SudburyBasser Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 My absolute favorite quote from Ike for the day: "Tune into the Outdoor Channel. You can see that fish on TV!" That was some good smack talk there. And considering how badly he pounded his group, justified. Quote

He is obnoxious at times IMO, but as you point out, he's well known to us bassers. Quote

Brian Needham Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I don't understand the short jokes on Biffle.... if your shorts are below your knees that are too long IMO, inch or 2 above the knee is the perfect length...common knowledge I thought? Quote

keith71 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Biffle just been in the game so long that he used to wear those short-shorts from the 80's. He's an intense guy that brought alot to the game.He and Denny really put flipping out in the forefront of Pro bassing.I can remember when a Tripple Rattle Back jig was the only jig to own. Quote
Brian Needham Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I guess it depends on whether you are wearing shorts, or your wife's capri pants..... ZING!!!! Quote

bassh8er Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 They have some lame rules, penalties for letting a fish touch the boats carpet? Promoting healthy catch and release is great, but that seems really over the top. This was actually my favorite part of the show and I wish they would institute it in the Elite and FLW series. I cannot stand watching these guys flip 3 lb. bass in the boat, holding it down with their shoe, (which I have seen on a FLW Tournament coverage show), and then throwing the non-keepers over the side in disgust of the don't measure. I'd rather see them take weight than time and would guess that would be more manageable in most tournament settings, but at least this is a start. 1 Quote
Goose21 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Biffle and his male camel toe was hilarious if anyone noticed. I could do without Ike going nuts after every fish but I do enjoy his insight and passion to win. The outdoor channel just recently began airing on my direct t.v. and im loving it, along with the league fishing show.. Feeds my addiction in the dead of winter here in the midwest. 1 Quote
Topwaterspook Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 When Ike first became prominent on the fishing scene, I couldn't stand him. All his screaming and antics were absolutely abrasive. I attended a "Bassmaster University" weekend. As luck would have it, Mike was one of the featured anglers. I almost skipped his part of the presentations. He came out and the very first thing he did was ask all the kids to come right up front and sit so that they could see it all. He got down on one knee and chatted with them. Within that first session, he changed my opinion of him 180 degrees. Yes, he's still loud and can be irritating but I truly believe it's all driven by his passion and drive. I was glad to see that he's advanced to the next round. 2 Quote
mattk22 Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Was Ike using a chatter bait or his new Molix Lover? Quote
gripnrip Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Was Ike using a chatter bait or his new Molix Lover? It was definitely a bladed jig. Which one? I am not sure. I don't like Ike but I don't hate him either. He is a very knowledgable fisherman and he deserves to be classified as one of the best in the game at the present time. I personally loved the show. I just watched it last night. What an unbelievable format. I wanted more! I may just have to drop the extra cash to get the extended version on the internet. What I would like to ask. Is it worth it though? Quote
BassnChris Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Loved the show.............but you absolutly can not watch it with anyone sleeping in the house.....have the perfect volume to enjoy the show..........then Ike catches a fish and starts screaming like a lunatic and wakes people up.....great fisherman and very entertaining when sound volume is not an issue.
