Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 I was cleaning out the basement yesterday and I think I have enough rod tubes to build a house. So has anyone figured out anything cool to do with your old cardboard rod tubes? Yep it's cold and I'm board. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 Not a clue, but I just can't bring myself to throw them away! Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 2, 2013 If they were waterproof I'd make a Gilligan's Island style raft and fish off of it. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 Tie them together and make a tent frame. Quote
Bass Junkie Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 They're invaluable for shipping rods you decide to sell. Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 2, 2013 Tie them together and make a tent frame. And then tape old worm bags together to make the cover for it? Quote
Super User webertime Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 If you have a Chiminea and aren't close to anything flamible, like within 50 yards... Start the fire and put the tube in the top of it. Sounds like a jet engine! (Irresponsible things we do in blizzards up here...) Also works with rolled up Pizza boxes. You could do some Bicycle Jousting too. (sounds funny... it's not.) 4 Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 2, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 2, 2013 That's exactly what I'm looking for! Something off the wall and irresponsible ! Lets keep the ideas rolling... I'm thinking mortar tubes or rocket launchers but the cardboard would be a disadvantage to say the least. Quote

Super User LgMouthGambler Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 Chew up whole sheets of paper and use it for big spit balls! 1 Quote

Crookedneck Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Maybe not irresponsible but gauranteed to cause fireworks. Move them all into the house for a couple days. A couple in the kitchen, living room, dining room. Then sit back & see how your wife reacts.....I don't recommend putting any in the bedroom as you may get beat in your sleep...just saying... Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted January 4, 2013 Super User Posted January 4, 2013 I cut them into short lengths and use them as fire starters. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted January 4, 2013 Global Moderator Posted January 4, 2013 They work great for bottle rocket fights. Saw one in half and shoot from the shoulder like a bazooka or from the hip. 2 Quote
Lunker7 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Tape them together like a raft, coat the bottom with a whole lot of wax paper, and go find a snowy hill! (Works on grass too!) A whole lot of fun. Take it from a 14 year old! Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted January 5, 2013 Author Super User Posted January 5, 2013 I was thinking about a big "Church" organ or a extra large wind chime... Quote
