Goose21 Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Ive fished lots of seaguar flouro and mono and have been satisfied with each. Are you wetting your line prior to clenching, standard and essential when fishing with flouro irregardless the brand. With that being saud I prefer Sunline Shooter flourocarbon for all techniques aside from fishing surface lures because it has all the attributes of Seaguar Tatsu only cheaper and more abbrasion resistant in my experience. Yes I wet my line prior to using. I've been exclusively fishing fluoro since 2006, and I use to like Seaguar, until I got burnt. One time, that sucks, twice that is some really bad luck, three times and I'm tapped out. Plus like you've noticed the Sunline is a superior product for the price and Toray is far superior but pricey. Quote
tylerwyp Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Thank you so much everyone! I am relatively new to bass resource and it is so helpful seeing everyone's opinions. Thanks again and good luck to everyone next spring! Quote
Toeshots Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 Anybody have this in Smoke color? How is it? I was browsing eBay for some cheap bulk spools and saw this as a color, however I don't recall seeing this color at BPS the other day... Quote
swmofisher Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 The line is a great choice and my favorite knot is the SD knot or double SD, both are great with fluoro and in personal strain tests they both performed better than all other common knots such as the Palomar, improved clinch, or Zona shark knot which is a knock off of another knot. Super User *Hootie Posted January 2, 2013 Super User Posted January 2, 2013 YoZuri is where its at. I find the 12# to be my happy median. I bought Yozuri on your reccomendation LMG. Been using it since last summer. Great line. Hootie Quote
bassin is addicting Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 i've used the YZ Ultra-soft for the past 3 years on all my spinning gear and have had no problems. sure.....some coiling. but KVD line conditioner takes care of that. i find its breaking point well above the rating. i would recommend it. i use both 6lb and 8lb. mainly 8lb. BassThumb Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 I use 10# Hybrid on my cranking rods and 12# on my spinnerbait and buzzbait/chatterbait/paddletail rods. Great line for reaction baits like this. I prefer the Hybrid over the Ultra Soft, too. Quote
