Hey guys. Just wondering what brand/model and color of spinnerbaits everyone is successful with

A lot of trial an error over the years has refined my spinnerbait selection, but IMHO to keep it simple you can't go wrong with a 3/8's ounce willow/colorado tadem blade configuration, with a chart/white skirt too start with, then expand form there. That's a good all purpose spinnerbait. Lots of good brands out there, I like Strike king.

Mega strike makes the best spinnerbaits, in my opinion. I started out with Booyah pond magic, and strike king 3/8 oz. All chartreuse then I expanded my horizon to blacks, reds, etc.

Depends.

White. white/chartruse, blue/black, peanut butter & jelly, green pumpkin and brown ones with orange in them to mimic crawfish for starters.

Size depends on the local forage, water temperature, time of year and water clarity.

Pigs depend on the same as above although I use crawfish pigs the most.

1/2 and 3/8 most favorite sizes.

Cold water I go with real pork. Otherwise it is a plastic jig.

Do yourself a favor. Hit the Siebert and North Star sites and see their offerings. Excellent quality and beautiful jigs.

Also check out the tacklemaking section on the Forum and try to find a guy who makes his own jigs and put in an order.

Happy New Year!

Oops, my mistake. Watching Georgia Tech putting it to $outhern Cal and got carried away.

As for spinnerbaits, War Eagle. Excellent products.

White, white/chartruse and totally chartruse.

3/8 is most favored size.

Blades can drive you nuts.

Keep blades simple.

For more information about spinnerbaits check out any of the Hank Parker spinnerbait DVDs. Parker is the master of the spinnerbait and he explaines the different blades and their best uses.

Laminate skirts are also excellent. Check them out, too and replace the ones that come with the spinnerbaits.

As for a trailer, whatever you want to use.

And Georgia Tech just screwed up on a punt and U$C has the ball.

They are all good, just have to experiment with the colors/blades combos. Heck, Ive caught soo many fish just using the $1 spinnerbaits they sell at Wallyworld.

War eagle... Love them.

I tend to do better with 1/4,5/16,3/8 or the smaller ones.

Colors I like are mouse, white, or charting white, or just chart

Terminator Titanium spinnerbaits are my personal preference. They come in great colors, run straight as an arrow, and you never have to tune them. THey make up the vast majority of my blades.

x2. If I'm looking for different colors I really like some of what North Star Custom Baits has to offer.

I've tried many brands and have found the War Eagle spinnerbaits to be the best for me.  This spring I am going to try out some of the Komanchi spinnerbaits.  They look AMAZING!

As far as color goes you can't go wrong with what ww2farmer said to start off with - white and chartreuse, willow/colorado combo.  For really stained water an all black one with a larger single colorado blade works best.

For size I tend to stick with either a 3/8oz, or 1/2oz.  Mainly with a 1/2oz since I mostly fish from shore and the extra weight let's me really toss it out into the drink.  For really clear water I have some of the Booyah pond magic and Strike King mini shad.  These last two are under $3 each so I picked up all of their colors.

i like War Eagle blue shad I think is the color.

I have caught a TON of fish on SB's in my years of fishing. I have found that catching fish in smaller bodies of water on SB's as opposed to larger bodies of water is a whole different ballgame. Since I have started lake fishing I have had most of my bites on Lucky Craft SB's which sucks because I think it is stupid to pay $15 for a spinnerbait, but when you go to Lake Fork and the only spinnerbait you are catching fish on is a LC, then you tend to have faith in them.

I use the American Shad and Ghost Minnow

Pretty much only fish War Eagle and Booyah. Mouse, spot remover, chart/white, and white are my favorite War Eagle colors. Tandem 3/8oz and the bigger size of the War Eagle Finesse are my favorites. I like the Booyah tandem colorado/Indiana blades in white or chartreuse or tandem colorado blades.

I really love throwing spinnerbaits. I dont really have a favorite brand really. I like to throw a 3/8 - 3/4 oz most of the time. I like to use white, white and char in the day in clear to semi clear water. In muddy water I like to throw a darker color with big colorado blades for a good thump. At night, a black with the biggest colorado blades i have, or double colorado blades. I use trailer hooks alot too. Hope this helps ya. Good luck

My personal favorite are the cheap 1 dollar ones at walmart, i went crazy and bought atleast one of each color, seems the chartreuse, and variations of that work well, i got a nice 21 inch pickerel on one, and countless bass, cant beat them for the price

I have had pretty good luck with the BPS spinnerbaits over the years.

Academy spinnerbaits have served me well in the past. More recently it has been booyah and mainly strike king. I really need to get a few war eagle and see what the hype is all about.

Lots of great advice guys thanks a lot. It seems I just have to try a little of everything and figure out what I like best. Thanks again and happy fishing!

Not a big spinnerbait guy but am going to throw them more to build up my patience for slower fishing.  But I like the Strike King made for Dicks with the colorado blades and have had success with them.  I think the colorado blades help slow me down just a little more than others.

On another note, I LOLed at the komanchi name definition on the website.  Seems like total bs, but I gotta say their spinnerbaits look good and certainly have caught my attention as a fisherman!

This is a spinnerbait I had great success with this year
