Knightiac Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Every time I buy something fishing related I can't stop thinking about it for days! Lol. Just got a 7' MH/F Veritas to round out my rod collection for now. Spooled up some Yozuri Hybrid (for the first time) on my Lews and paired them together. I love the combo and thanks to those who recommended the Yozuri, it's good stuff. Quote
BassnChris Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I know.......I do the same thing. My recent fish finder purchases........my co-workers have to hear me talk about them everyday....all day......for no telling how many days. And I have not even been able to mount them yet (weather).........it is a disease I guess......at least a condition! Quote
Super User Teal Posted December 31, 2012 Super User Posted December 31, 2012 Nice. A very under rated combo that you've got. I have a veritas 7m (crank rod) with a lews TP. It is ridiculously light. I think you will enjoy it very much. I wish that I worked around more serious bass fishermen..it's like I'm speaking Greek to them.... 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted December 31, 2012 Global Moderator Posted December 31, 2012 My problem is when I decide I need something fishing related I can't stop thinking about it. Then when I get it I can't stop thinking about getting it on the water and catching some fish on it. Quote

Then when I get it I can't stop thinking about getting it on the water and catching some fish on it. Exactly. I've got an app for my android phone that has helped - It's called color note. You can make different notes and within each note you can write descriptions or even make a check list. So I've always got a little sticky note on my home screen on my phone titled BPS. In that note I list things I need and just check them off or add things as I go. It sort of helps me forget about things... Until I actually purchase them. Quote
Super User LgMouthGambler Posted December 31, 2012 Super User Posted December 31, 2012 You think thats bad. I have AK Notepad on my phone in which I have put my whole tackle assortment on there with what colors and what baits in detail with how many of each lure or bag I have. Same thing with all my hooks and weights. I did this so I can update exactly what I have, and can look at it while at BPS to know what I need to pick up. Also, congrats on the nice combo, even though its not a Shimano Quote

Knightiac Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Hey, I need a rack like that.......but it needs to hold 5 times more rods. Lol something my dad made this summer. It holds fifteen spinning reels but the baitcasters take up a little more space. He told me he just copied the design the local sports authority uses. Quote

Lunker7 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Sometimes when I'm so bored and can't go outside to cast or hang out i'l literally go upstairs, tie a dog toy to the end of an old rod, and cast down from the balcony while the dog tries to bite the toy. Definitely a condition. Quote

Super User Sam Posted December 31, 2012 Super User Posted December 31, 2012 I know what you guys are talking about. I put the guilt trip on my wife and she got me the G. Loomis 822 shaky head spinning rod. My next plan is to get the 822 drop shot rod for my birthday in May. I have not loaded up the new rod and it is killing me. I store all rods without the reels so no reel has ever been on my new rod and will not go on until April tournaments. I do hold and look at the rod. It is a masterpiece. Going crazy wishing we had a nice warm day on the horizon to go to the double secret pond and give her a test ride. The rod, not my wife!!!! Quote
drew4779 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Glad to see I'm not the only one that's sick in the head...with fishing. Quote
BassmanDan Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 I don't know if it's just me getting older but I used to be so consumed by everything bass fishing that it was always on my mind like some of y'all. Now after about 15 years I still fish just as much but the craziness has come down to a more manageable level. I still can't go more than a week off the water without getting withdrawals though. Sidebar to Sam...they are talking about a big warm up in NC by Monday with temps in the 60's, and even warmer after that. You may get a chance to give that rod a workout soon. Quote
