...to be in some of the best smallmouth territory around and to be snowed in.

Visiting the inlaws on Lake Erie and we are absolutely covered in snow. It's killing me to look out the window and know all those big-bodied lake smallies are just lurking there under the ice and snow! Holiday snow is beautiful, but I realize why I live in Virginia! (And I used to consider VA to be too far north...)

Any of you other SouthEast guys in the same predicament?

No but I can imagine. I don't know how they stop fishing for 6 months I realy don't. Of course many I now start hunting to fill the gap.

Look at the bright side your in laws will be around in the summer.

It's not the snow that has me shorebound it's my boat, I am trying desperatly to save enough for a new trolling motor and get out on Anna to get this year rolling, I have so many new things I want to get accomplished this year and yet, like you, I know the opportunity is right there and can't do anything about it...yet.

It's driving me nutts !!!

Know the feeling. Work has me swamped. I drive by the new river every day to and from work and I hear it becoming me and I just can't get to her. Going to be a long winter if it keeps up this way.
