Well I spent about 3 hours on tackle this morning. I found some intersting stuff I forgot that I had. Anyone remember the Strike King 3X baits? I found quite a few of those! I also am going to post some stuff for sale in the "flea market" forum.

What are some of your most intersting finds while sorting tackle? :tongue8::party-066:

Well, I am a pretty organized person, so I don't usually find unused baits at the bottom, but it's always exciting to find a dried up mealworm or a melted skirt! :laugh5:

During the fishing season i go through my tackle about once a week. It is usually because i am prepping ot fish a particular lake so i tailor my boxes accordingly. Of course if i didn't fish from a kayak and have somewhat limited space it would probably be a different story.

I hate finding receipts in my tackle box, reminding me how much money I spent on baits I lost or used very little.

I am far from organized! I have so much "stuff" scattered here and there it's hard to keep up with. I think the only plastic I don't have is the banjo minnow! :laugh5:

Since I fish primarily from the banks, I have to keep one bag with all of my stuff ready to go and it limits me. That being the case, I've got hundreds of bags I leave behind that I've experimented with and just simply ruled out for the time being. My buddies see my stuff laying there and get mad at me for having so much not in use, but it's all about experimentation or you really can't rule out what you like and dislike.

I have boxes of junk that have laid around for years... Every once in a while I go back and sort through them for the fun of it. However, I rarely find something I forgot about... Anything worth using is in my bags, or hanging around somewhere.

Don't hate on the banjo minnow.  I picked up some as a joke and they are a pretty good bait to use where snags are not a huge issue.  I am not sure if the bass are "gentically programmed to strike" them like the infomercial states but they have some good action and can produce :)

Yeah, I've actually heard some good reviews on them.

I still have my kit from 1995, lol, or whenever they first introduced them.

I should have typed more clearly.  I was joking more about the infomercial than the bait itself.  It's kind of a going joke with my  buddies.  We always throw out, when we're getting skunked, if we have purchased the "miracle" bait.  No disrespect.  :eyebrows:

Ha ha, I was cleaning out some old tackle the other day and I happened across mine from back then as well. Didn't have the heart to toss the plastics but I re-purposed everything I could -- hooks and the like -- so at least some of that gets some use. Even had the little red rattle I might shove into a tube bait.

when I go through all my stuff I usually say why did I buy all these baits. By that I mean 15 1.0 kvd square bills all in chrome shad? must have been on sale

I never go thru my tackle, I buy pretty much the same things all the time and I know when I need to replace them, which is usually on my way home after I'm done fishing.  I use freshwater baits, inshore baits and offshore tackle, my replacement procedure is the same for all.

I do that all the time Matt996.  When I was thumbing through my stuff I found some old Denny Braur Strike King jigs in black/blue.  20+ of them 1/2 oz. I guess I'll have a rod dedicated to that jig this year! :laugh5:

Yeah, I was organizing my tackle the other day and I found at least 5 Bomber Square A's in the same color. Also, once I found a pack of Berkley saltwater baits in my bag. I don't even fish saltwater!

A couple of dead bugs in the bottom of the bag and some bubble gum colored flukes.

You got a better deal than I did.  The discount sticker on mine was $1.00!  I always save a bunch on Wal-Mart close outs.  This past year I scored on some Arkie football head jigs and a bunch of Z-man chatter baits.
