I need quite a few new things from BPS. Since I'm in sub 30 degree weather up in the Midwest I was debating waiting for the BPS spring classic sale. For anyway who went last year, is it worth the wait?

I work at BPS, and yes, I think it's worth the wait.

Lot's of good deals during the classic.

yup, i'll second the waiting for hte spring sale. They usually have a trade in special for rods and reels. Last year i traded in a reel and with the shimano rebate was able to get a citica for $60...can't beat that price.

Is there a personal limit of rods to trade in that they'll cap you off at?

I don't think so because all the rods are given the once over and then donated to various youth organizations.

It's about the only time of the year I spend more than just a few bucks at BPS. Sometimes there are pleasant surprises and sometimes not, but the reel trade in is always worth (especially w/Shimano) it in case you "missed" picking one up on Black Friday.

Its worth the wait. Splurge all at once. There's a lot of great deals at that Spring Classic

its definately worth it if you want rods and reels. As far as baits go, it depends on what you are looking for. Its not like some online stores where youre whole cart is a certain percent off. I usually save up my Rewards points for the sale, and with the reel trade in and Abu Garcias usual spring sale rebate, i can get a good deal. This spring im shooting for the new Daiwa Steez. If i dont have the availble funds in my "fishing fund" then it will be a Gen 3 Premier. I have yet to trade in a rod.

The more expensive the rod or reel you buy, the more credit you get for your trade in.

It all depends on what you are trading for. I dont know the numbers off the top of my head. For example, if you trade in a rod for a $100 rod you get $10 off. If you trade in a rod for a $300 reel, you get $25 off. These arent exact numbers, but just an example. I have old wal mart rods in my basement that i used as a kid, those are what i trade in. It doesnt matter if you trade in a zebco 33 or a Steez, you get the same amount.

I assume its one rod or reel per purchase? Meaning if a traded two rods would i get twenty bucks off a new rod if the discount was 10 per rod?

1 rod per 1 rod, 1 reel per 1 reel.

What do they do with the traded in reels and rods? Do they sell those for a big discount?
