Hi guys, question about Senko

I don't fish them, but need to start.

Have any of you used off brand (private label / hand poured) Senko worms? I still have sticker shock with Yamamoto baits. For a bait that I don't regularly use, I don't want to absorb the price. No doubt, you get what you pay for and If a bait works I will fork out the $$$. Learning an entire genre of baits is not where I want to drop $7.99 to get 9 baits that tear on each fish. There are a lot of off brands on Ebay for good quantity and price. My friend says the originals catch better than off brand.

Anyone have input on the topic?

I think the original works better than off brands. They're expensive but they work. In my experience they are the one bait that'll catch em when others don't.

Wacky rigged or Texas rigged they catch fish, just spend the extra money. It'll be worth it.

Well there are a number of ways to rig them where you get numerous fish per worm. Wacky style with Heat shrink tubing, one or two o-rings, fuel tubing. You can repair them with heat or special adhesive(Mend-It).

Ive caught 15+ bass with one senko and Ive lost $10 spinnerbait on first cast never a fish tapped it thats part of fishing.

The original Senko is a great bait and some people swear they catch more fish than any other brand of stick bait. I've used them as well as several other brands and I've actually had better luck with Yum Dingers. They're cheaper and they have more per package. I just looked on the Bass Pro website and the five inch Yum Dingers are on clearance for $1.97 for a 12 pack. Can't go wrong at that price.

I fish Bass Pro Stick-Os almost exclusively. They're tougher and I catch almost as many fish as an the original. If it was a tournament situation I'll spring for the GY senkos for the extra bites they'll get me.

This topic is pinned at the top of this section.

If you still have questions about the Senko after reading everything there, you are welcome to post questions

here in the Tackle section. However, one thing we really don't need is another food fight on price, value and

performance of knock-offs vs. the real deal.

Goodnight Irene.
