Just got one paired up with the new Carbonlite reel.

7ft, Medium, Moderate Action, was planning on using it for lipless cranks or small cranks in general. What other applications is this rod action best used for?

Also, I just picked up a spool of 15 lb test Yo Zuri Hybrid, is there a better line you folks would recommend?

Im working on building up my arsenal, its pretty limited so far but I have

7ft MH Fast action - Jigs, Heavy Plastics, Frogs

6'6"MH Fast Action - Spinners, Chatterbaits

7ft M Fast Action - Lipless Cranks in weeds, plastics sometimes

7ft M Moderate Action - Planning on using for cranking, lipless and small cranks

6'6" ML Spinning Rod - Finesse Worms, Drop Shotting

Ideally I would like to get a dedicated cranking stick (BPS cranking stick)

A shorter rod for spinners and chatters, will perhaps a pistol grip, much more accurate with a shorter stick for me

A Nice flipping stick

And another Spinning set up, perhaps for jerkbaits and things of that sort as it feels more natural for me

Am I heading down the right path? Are there anythings you folks would recommend I change up? Thanks so much for your time and hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

That rod will handle most cranks except for heavy deep divers. I have one in similar specs and use it for almost all my cranking.

Your new rod will also work for most jerkbaits. If it was me I would NOT use the 15# yozuri hybrid on that rod/reel outfit. That line would be better suited for bigger texas rigs or jigs. I think 10 or 12# would be plenty. This will be easier to cast and get you better action and depth on your lures. Yozuri is a fine choice but I personally would get 10# invisix or your favorite 10# mono. If you spooled with mono you could also use this setup for most topwater baits as well.

That is a very versatile setup and should be nice and light weight!

When you have a budget in mind for the remaining outfits let us know. Also don't be afraid to do a search on the forum here for jig rods, cranking rods, finesse spinning rods, etc... lots has been written on all of these and may help as a starting point.

I have that rod paired with a Curado 200B w/12lb Suffix Seige. It handles all my mid-depth cranking needs and does a great job!

I'd use it for pretty much all my treble hook lures except for deep diving cranks. I'd go with 10#, maybe 12# test tops however. If it was a DEDICATED squarebill/lipless rod I could see using 15# but that's only for ripping cranks out of cover and weeds. I would also recommend a MH/M rod for that specific application. I'm actually planning on the 7' M/M Carbonlite rod being part of my next set up to handle smaller cranks and jerkbaits. I held one the other day at BPS and I actually liked it a lot. I usually don't like foam handles but these were different. Enjoy the new rod!

The rest of your rod/technique pairings seem fine to me. A lot of that comes down to personal preference in the end, but I can't find anything that I would change if that was my arsenal.
