NOVA Angler Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 We all know red crankbaits are very popular this time of year so I was curious if anyone throws red spinnerbaits with success in the spring? I picked up a red Terminator spinnerbait today to try out. I guess I'm looking for a little confidence booster. Quote
BassThumb Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I was thinking the same thing as you and I tried them in the Spring a little last year with so so results, but I love red spinnerbaits at night in the Summer or in very low light at dawn/dusk. Quote
Carrington Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 are you talking about the hook being red or the actualy skirt being red? because ive never seen a red skirted spinnerbait. Quote

Check out Strike King's site. They have it in the Premire Plus series. I have a few red ones but have never really thrown them much. Quote
tbird Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 I don't throw red spinnerbaits but I heard there were a couple of tournaments on Toledo Bend in the past that were won on them. T Quote
tdc rangemaster Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 Good alternative color in the spring when the crawfish bite is on..Lots of fisherman use these in this part of texas. I have a few in my box but white is my confidence color. but Im going to be throwing these this week, along with my red traps. Quote

bassman31783 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I've always done quite well with red spinnerbaits. All mine have gold blades on them & usually work better in stained to murky water. Quote
Taylor Fishin 4 life Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 i had good sucess with them at lake fork but thats about it Quote
bassman31783 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 i had good sucess with them at lake fork but thats about it Funny you should say that seeing that Fork is my home lake. ;D I've done well with it on other lakes as well though. Quote
senko_77 Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I'm a huge fan of red spinnerbaits. Red skirt/gold bladed spinnerbaits have really caught em for me on certain days. I don't know what turns them on to it, but I always throw it around during practice to see if I can get bit on it. My favorite way to fish red spinnerbaits is in the Summertime, burning them over grass clumps and other shallow cover. Quote
