So my brother and I have two very different methods of fishing. I'm huge into bass. He is a die hard fly fisherman. For Christmas I built him (actually still building) him a new switch rod. And in turn he is tying me some tube flys. He uses these for fishing steelhead and browns. I thought they would work great on a a T-rig. A hair jig-rigged T-rig. I'll call it the WinkRig. It is a fly wrapped around a piece of plastic tubing. Your thoughts?

Sorry for the pics..taken with my phone..

I have no doubt that they'll work on bass and those look mighty fine on trout or bass. I do something similar but with round headed jigs for steelhead and salmon, but have done good with them against smallies too. Give him some round headed jig heads and have him show you how to do these. Then you'll have an additional tactic to the t-rigged fly. Not to mention, that would probably kick phanny on a DS set up.

Of course give it a shot.

And then let us know the results.

We are always looking for something different.

Happy New Year!

Same concept as a marabou jig, or a marabou streamer, both of which are known to produce some pretty nice brown bass. Way to think outside the box :thumbsup_blue:

Slip a treble hook into the tube and use it on a Panther-Martin inline spinner for smallies, or on a structure spoon for LMB.

That looks great, let me know how it works.

Last winter I was fooling around with tying in a small piece of surgical tube, but I never quite perfected it. What you have just may work!

Good luck.
